WOW you look great, I don't have a digital camera or I would try one myself. My hair is about 1/2 inch all over and came back 50 % grey and the other darker than I have ever had it. Looks almost a smoky color I have always been a lighter brown with just a few grey, So different, still waiting for facial hair
-
Terynsmom walk me through how to resize the picture. Thanks.
Debbie I am glad to put a face back on you, only seeing part of your head was a little strange. Your kids are sweet.
Sherry the facial hair is something I still have, arm hair
too although it is much thinner.
I have appointment for my markings on Wednesday. One more step closer to the end....
Amy I have some really wild bald photos too, would post them but afraid they'd get reposted around the world they are so funny.
Fists up! -
Debbie, your children are lovely! I love your picture ... you have a lot of hair coming in. You look very pretty with this $1,000,000 crew cut!
-
Or should I have said, "Your £1,000,000 crew cut!!"
-
This is one of my favourite photos - it makes me smile so i thought i would share it with you all. As you are all my adoptive family meet Catherine 10 and Mark 8 - my reasons that i am going through this with a smile on my face and the knowledge that it isnt going to beat me!
Now that my hair is coming in i get the urge to go places with nothing on my head - is that weird? Still wear my scarf to work as i work at my kids school - think it might be harder for them to deal with the comments than me.
As for the kind comments - i realise that i will never be elfin like enough to suit cropped hair, thankgoodness it wasnt an expensive hairdressers mistake!!!!
Debbie -
Yesterday at church one of my friend's little 7-year-old boy said, "Is your hair ever going to grow back?" So, I took of my hat and showed him my head. His eyes got all big and I said, "Feel it. It's soft." He did that and started laughing. Made me feel good and a little sad at the same time. I have all kinds of crazy emotions these days. In my eyes, you all look beautiful . . . hair or no hair! I thought my hair was coming in all white but over the weekend I noticed darker patches. I hope I don't end up looking like a dalmation, with patches of white and dark.
-
Debbie:
Your girls are beautiful, our kids and grandkids no matter how old are what keeps us going!!!!! -
Maryanne -
Thanks for the posting pic info. I love your photo by the stream!
Debbie -
You look great! And your kids are adorable.
You all amaze me with your confidence and strength. And it is so great to see all your smiles!
Laura -
I have sooo enjoyed all the last posts!! I can't stop smiling... Great pictures everyone!! ADORABLE kids, Debbie!!!
-
If this posts right it should be a picture 1 month prior to diagnosis. -
OK now I'm picture happy...I am truly sporting the dalmation look (love the analogy Mary!)
-
This photo was taken right before chemo started.
Hi ladies!! I have not posted for a couple of weeks. My mother is visiting and she keeps me very busy!
Today was my last radiation day! I can't believe I am finally done!
Thank you, MaryAnn for the uploading directions and Terynsmom for the resizing website.
All the photos are delightful! -
ooooooh, i love all that photo exchange business! so nice to be able to picture you all!
here is mine... as you can see the size of my nose doesnt allow me to go scarfless just yet... only at home and among friends. Its funny to see kids reactions, they are so honest, yet so accepting! -
... here is me with my mum. She is such a great source of strength and support for me!
not the best pic of her, she would kill me if she knew i am posting this! but its the only one i can find. she really is a beautiful lady.
and here is my wig... never got used to it. Only wore a couple of times! -
Graycie...THANKS!!!
and NOW, congratulate me cuz I went topless!!! I started yesterday with a trip with my husband for lunch to celebrate his birthday and then today I was really brave and had coffee with 2 girlfriends..TOPLESS!! NO, I don't like my white stuff I have up there, but this is who I am right now...no choice of mine!
ravdeb -
Paula...you are a beauty! You look so good in ALL the pictures but I love the one of you with your chic short "haircut"! You look beautiful (nose is NOT a problem!) and looks like your hair is coming in really nicely now.
Be proud, girl!
ravdeb -
thanks ravdeb...
congrats on going topless! you are braver than me!
and congrats on your last chemo. feels like such a weight off your shoulders, isnt it? are you doing rads? -
How all of our posts have changed - there seems to be a really positive vibe on the board now - its been lovely to see all of the pics of everyone. It proves we all have lives above and beyond cancer, it is not all encompassing, juat a part of us rather than all of us. i for one am glad it has given me the opportunity to meet you all.
Debbie -
Brenda - how did you manage to get everyone on the photo - unless you have another cute and very talented dog????
Paula - stunning photo - all i see is one attractive, brave woman, the nose doesnt come into it!!
Debbie -
What a great way to start my day seeing pictures of so many smiling faces!!!! You all look wonderful. Scarfs or none at all!!
-
paula...i'm telling you again....you look beautiful with your hair!!! you completely have the face to pull off that hairdo. i'm still saying you should go for it and be topless!
i love these pictures too....i'm so proud of us all!!!!!!!!!!! -
All you ladies look beautiful.....hair or no hair.
Ravdeb, congratulations on your first day of going topless. I give you all alot of credit, I wish I had the nerve to do it but I am still too bald. Graycie -
OK inspired by all of you I went topless to a restaurant, actually started off in a wig. But decided to take it off. The poor waiter had just served the wigged me a Gin and tonic. Later came and asked if I would like a drink not realizing it was me again. LOL.
Ravdeb I am "beat to a snot too". A local expression meaning very tired. I tink it will take at least 4-5 weeks post chemo before we will feel somewhat better. Be sure you are checking your temp though as you could be getting sick. Remember what happened during AC.
The pictures are truely lovely. It is so nice to see all of you.
I have my planning for Rads tomorrow. Yeah, the final step.
Paula your nose is regal, take your wig off. Your hair is long...well compared to mine that is.
Going to have a couch day today, watch a movie and relax. Talk later.
Fists up! -
Hi Ladies!
I love all the pics and the fun posts! Isn't it great that we are all finding our lives again after this battle?
Paula, you are beautiful, I think it is time that you went topless!
Deb and Mary Anne great job on going topless!
Graycie I am still too bald too, but my hair growing back is light brown so that is going to take a while longer to cover my head. It is growing pretty good on the top, but not much on the sides yet. I think I am going to have to sport the mohawk look!! I would rather be a dalmation!
Have a good day everyone! -
so weird how our hair is growing back...i'm thin on top and thick on the sides. wish it were the other way around.
mary-anne...congrats on going topless...what a funny story! i went to work topless yesterday and actually had a patient of mine rub my head as soon as she saw me. took me by surprise but it was funny
for those finishing chemo now...it took me about 3-4 weeks to feel like myself again. all of a sudden, i woke up and felt great. you will get there. all of my family and friends are telling me now how good i look...they told me that i really had no color in my face during chemo, looked puffy from the steroids, and mainly looked exhausted. i didn't realize how sick i looked. even some of my patients are telling me they think i look really healthy. all of a sudden, you'll wake up with more energy and color in your cheeks and feel somewhat like yourself again. that is truly a great day
also...for those starting rads...it didn't seem nearly as bad as i thought it would be. it went by sooooo fast. i was tired a lot, but nothing like chemo. it'll be over soon! -
Cute, Paula, cute!! I can't wait until I have that much hair to sport!
-
This is the only recent pic I have of us together. I will have to have some new pic taken.
-
My daughter uttered a sentence today that sounded so good. I came in from work, took my wig off and heard
" Your hairs a mess at the back mum"
Hurray!!!!!!!!!!
Debbie -
terynsmum - gorgeous!! both of you!
is this a wig, or your hair? looks fabulous either way!
Amy, how are you coping with Tamoxifen? any nasty side effects? -
Paula, you need to go scarfless, you look beautiful but then your scarf looks gorgeous too!!
That is one of my wigs!! I have 6 of them. That one is my dad's favorite and he was the photographer, so his choice of hair for the day.
