Looking forward to some photos Faith. We leave this weekend for Mayan Riviera plan to do some snorkling.I now have a waterproof camera so will try and get some underwater shots as well.
-
OOOhhh, I LOVE underwater photography!! You`ll be amazed at what your camera picks up that you didn`t even notice at the time, Mum!!! Watch for `cleaning stations` and flounders and rock fish, squirrel fish, etc. All the hidden secrets in plain sight!! Have a great time....
-
Hi all, we have decided to drive cross country to the 50th College Reunion at Dartmouth in NH for my husband...long drive from San Diego, at any rate it should take over a month as we like to see the sights...I have already been in all 50 states, but there is always something new to see.. We have driven cross country many times. Just have to figure out the main stops...we will drive up into Maine again too..I will have some pics of the Nothern Atlantic beaches
-
hey all: we got the cold front barbara was talkig about last night... brrrrr. its warming up already, though.. that's why i love florida!!!!!

Looking forward to wonderful pictures LISA!!!!! givr tiny fish a run for his money (in another genre' altogether)........3jays

What a GREAT trip Lisa!! Can`t wait to see the pics. My DH and I were wondering about doing the Route 66 trail one day....we both have driven a lot too. (I`ve even driven tractor trailer across country!)
-
We aren't doing it until May ....I did Route 66 in 1964 with a girlfriend of mine, we were kinda like Thema and Louise...
-
Lisa, how cool is that...I love to travel and since I don't work that is the thing I miss the most...jealous!!
-
Lisa,
If your travels bring you through NC, Raleigh in particular, stop in a stay a little while. We have lots of room and I would love to actually meet you. Just call when you are close and the beds will be ready. My door is always open.
Looking froward to lots of amazing pictures in May and June.
-
Thanks Amy, you never know!!
-
Lisa, I will PM you my address and phone number so you will have them handy. Don't be confused by the new name - it is still me! Amy

BEACHIES!!!!
BEACHIES!!!!
BEACHIES!!!!
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bucket list!!!!!
Bucket list!!!!!
Bucket list!!!!!
We had our day in paradise. Yes. A day. Actually more like 10 hours if you want to be totally accurate. Cruise over, Off the ship after breakfast. Day on the island: Grand Bahama/Freeport/Port Lucaya.
But for the bucket list?
This fifty-five year old granny went snorkeling for the first time in my life yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you hear me squealing all the way from the crystal clear waters. The reef was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING about the experience was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I took a couple hundred pictures of paradise, but didn't plan well -- to have an underwater camera.
The snorkeling was a very last minute, splendiforous decision.
The opportunity presented itself and I shouted, "YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
So I have no pictures of my many under-water friends or terrain..... so I just kept pinching myself and squeezing the images into my brain.
It was the memory of a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now I'm hooked.
I'm seriously willing to travel with you Mum + carry your bags, if I could go snorkeling again.
I do have some beautiful pics of glorious white sand and amazing blue vistas.

Amy -- you really had me confused, but of course that's easy to do!
-
Faith, I am soooo jealous - that is a bucket list item of mine and I know I WILL do it someday! Glad you got to cross that off your list darlin.
Lisa, if you're near Phila, PA, we must meet up again. I hate to say that we don't have a spare room though
Work begins ... drum roll ... next week!!! on our upstairs so we'll be torn apart for a few months. Eyes on the prize though and all that! I've never done a road trip - that's another bucket list item for me. We did drive to Niagara Falls (Canadian) years ago, but it was a 'leave now to get there' trip with kids and another couple, not a 'let's see the country' type drive.
Amyjo - are you suffering from an identity crisis? Did I miss a story about a name change???
-
Faith,
I'm so glad you got to finally snorkel - as my niece likes to say - it's FLAMAZING!!!
A whole 'nother world down there.
(Don't feel bad that you didn't get pictures, those little fishies don't like to pose for very long.) -
Faith, how wonderful that you love snorkeling! It is great exercise. Our west coast Fl beaches aren't great for snorkeling but the Keys aren't far and that is the best! I like to go for the wweekend. Drive to Ft Myers and get on the Hydrofoil to Key West. You get there in about 1-1/2 hours as opposed to 5-6 hours.
-
Congrats Faith!! Now do what only 2% of the world has done and join me in scuba diving!!! If you loved looking down on the reefs, can you imagine BEING down there? I was always afraid of the water, so as usual, my DH pushed my comfort zone and I became a licensed scuba diver. I have even had a dive off Bonaire which is off Venezuela...unbelievable!!!! A whole new world....!!!!
-
Becareful Faith once you get a taste for the undersea world you get addicted and have to keep going back.
-
-
ooohhhh....what a gorgeous picture Chabba

SURF'S UP
-
-
Oh Faith. How lucky to be snorkeling. I was like Barbe and had to be pushed into getting my scuba certificate - wow that was 1975. I try to keep up with the snorkeling, but would need a refresher course before I undertook a dive. What I hate the most is you can't wear glasses w/the mask. If I ever get to spend a fair amount of time around clear water I'll probably spring for a prescription mask - assuming those work with bifocals.
Thanks again for all the pictures ladies. I get my ocean fix here daily.
-
Minustwo (LOVE the name!) my DH needed a prescription mask when we dove but we kept putting it off. He finally got one and then got laser eye surgery! So, the next time we dove, it was poor vision for him again!!! They cost about $40 15 years ago. Not bad for better vision.
Great surfs Lisa!
-
My next post ladies will be from here with my toes in the sand.
-
I can paint that picture in pastels Mum!!!!!!! My new skill!! Send me your fav pic and I'll only charge a bco rate !
-
Love the picture.
-
Here's my little slice of paradise.
We had a total of 8 hours on the island.... or a few minutes less.
This is at Port Lucaya, on the Grand Bahamas, just a bounce down the road from Freeport.
We need some new flips flops for all of our newbies clocking in!
WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hubby got scuba qualified some time back. He took youngest DH, oldest was a chicken, so I stayed land-side w her. What a sacrifice.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo how I'd LUV to go again and again and again.
-
p.s. there's a few more pics up on my blog tonight.
too tired to copy 'em here.
I have a school visit tomorrow. TWENTY-EIGHT classes!
Seriously.
Holycow, Batman!
