Poll - How old were you when dx with BC
Comments
-
Wow, I am also struck by how young everyone is. I was diagnosed at 56.
-
45 1st left bc, found out BRCA1 after lumpectomy, chemo & rads then had ooph
46 2nd right bc, chemo, rads, bmx (no recon)
48 3rd bone mets, clodronate & fortenib (trial)
49 4th widespread nodes & maybe pleura, clodranate & xeloda
It worked out to aprox one every year, but when written looks like a year was skipped it was more just different scan times (the cancer was there)

31 and a newlywed - only married 6 months. In remission 17 months and having the final stage of SGAP reconstruction in 3 weeks. I had TCH x 6 treatments, 8 wks of radiation, a year of Herceptin, and bilateral mastectomies. I know everyone says the first year of marriage is tough, but damn! I will say that my husband and I have weathered this journey together and have grown in faith and love beyond words. God Bless everyone!
Love,
Brandi

I was 40 at first DX and technically I was 42 at stage IV but didn't have biopsies till I was 44.

I had just turned 46. I have ILC, never showed up on mammograms until it was huge. Breast surgeon said I probably had it for years. I remember breast feeding my twins in my late thirties and feeling a pulling sensation that was very uncomfortable. Turns out that was exactly where the cancer was! Now 7 years later, progression. Sucks!
-
One month before my 52nd b-day I was dx'd with stage 2 invasive lobular. Now I am 58 (again I was dx'd 1 month before my b-day) and stage 4. Needless to say, I am changing my date of birth to something else! I too am surprised how young some of you ladies are. This shit totally sucks!!
Big hugs and prayers for us all
