Wednesday Weigh In

I have lost 7 kilos since DX. It wasn't really because I tried. It seems the cancer messed up my metabolism, and once the chemo killed enough cancer, my system started working more normally again. Now I would like to lose another 4, not sure though exactly how I might go about it.
-
I put the fruit cake in the freezer. Now if I could just get fruitcake amnesia.
The nice thing about having Christmas dinner at somebody else's house is that you aren't stuck with the high cal leftovers.
-
carole - fruitcake amnesia -
-
Down .7 - yes, note the decimal point. Not much, but at least not a gain.
Besides fruitcake amnesia, I need Christmas cookie amnesia, Christmas fudge amnesia, Christmas pastry amnesia . . .
-
Okay.... much to my suprise I am at 166 this morning. It means I am down a couple pounds. I'll take it but I sort of don't believe it. I haven't been exercising and I have been enjoying food big time. My pants are tight too. Mayve muscle converting to fat ? Less weight more volume. Anyway I was pleased I wasn't up.
Mommie I lost over 20lbs since DX. It started creeping back on about 6 months after I was done with everything. I seem to be back to my old self with my old eating habits. So, I joined this board and the exercise board to keep me honest.
-
Same, same. Got to work and found chocolate bars in my desk drawer!!!
Will put them in the hallway for others this afternoon.
-
Well, I found all the pounds you did not put on as I am up 4 (pounds not ounces!). Just threw the rest of the brownies, fudge and Carmel popcorn in the garbage.
-
Sheesh - the sweets are EVERYWHERE!
-
Yep, things finally caught up with me . . . I'm up 3.5 lbs! It wasn't so much the eating that got me, but the cheer! Gosh, I love that egg nog, so glad it's seasonal. I'm not beating myself up too bad though, plan to get back on track and hope next week is better. (Although I love champagne too and we're heading out of town for the new year so I'm bracing myself. I have a feeling I'm going to have some serious resoluting to do :-) Wishing you all a new year filled with love, good health, good fortune, good times and good friends. Cheers to 2012!

Well Ladies..........................avoided WW like the "plague" today.............looked at the clock, got up to go to the bathroom, after going got on the scale, and said "ok, this body is going back to bed, and not to WW........................looked like with just the very thin Vanity Fair, nylon nightgown on, I was up 2 lbs.........................now did I have to go there to find that out..................nope.............got back in bed, and slept for another hour.
i had better watch my sorry ass this week.......................so I can go back and lose another 4 ounces..........................hahahahahaha............................................figured if I went with a 2 lb gain, the girl who was ectatic over my 4 ounce loss last week, might "faint" at my 2 lb gain.........................now wasn't that considerate of me to save her from a 911 call.................................................hahahahahahahahahahahaha........................
-
Hi Everyone. I am down 2.3 and I would love to be thrilled but I know it is fluid loss. I am losing and then regaining the same 2.3 each week- sad huh? Well I will keep at it since maybe one week I will lose more. I wish I could have thrown out the goodies and the cookies, but my way to get rid of them was to eat them. Bad, Bad me.
Hope everyone has a Wonderful New Year.
Ducky- your a good person - saving that WE person from fainting at your 2 lb gain. Have a great New Year!
-
I was down 1.5 lbs to 161.5. My goal is 150. A couple of months ago I broke 160 and was down to 159. Then came Thanksgiving and a week's trip to IL with restaurant meals. Up to 165.5 by the time we got back home. Managed to get down to 163.5 (my scale likes .5) and then came Christmas. Back up to 165.5.
I'm hoping to halt the weight yo-yo but aging and arimidex are making weight loss and maintenance VERY difficult. I'm determined to get back into all my size 12 clothes, not just a few of the bigger ones.
-
Ducky-- you are so funny... I would love to be fly on that WW wall!!!
I waited until thursday to weigh in for our Wednesday weigh in-- lol-- I HATE getting ont he scale anymore so I wait until iget to the hospital. YUCK-- up one pound this week. I REALLY hope most of this is water. They gave me a gentle diuretic which has yet to work. I am up over 15# since my surgery and chemo in early October. I do not know when this will stop but it better be NOW!!! Since chemo started it has been a steady 2 pound gain each week which accounts for most of the gain-- don't you think it is water?? really? help me out here gals. I am veryfrustrated. Anyone know if Taxol is the culprit? Hope it isnt herceptin and certainly cannot be Christmas cookies.....:)
-
Qaautsi, I feel your pain -- I am up 20# since my ooph/hyst surgery + starting an AI a year ago. I don't know about chemo weight gain, so can't help you there. I'd like to think mine is water retention, but it's concentrated around my middle and it just feels like plain old goose fat to me. :-/
And it makes me feel like a plain old fat goose!
I finally said to heck with squeezing into my old jeans and being miserable; went to JJill and bought the wide leg trousers and a skirt in their Wearever knit line. They are stylish, comfortable, and forgiving. I wear them just about every day. The other good thing is that when I lose weight they will still fit, if I haven't worn them out by then!
But I didn't toss my jeans, either, and I'm hoping to shrink back into them before long!
-
Quaatsi, for sure it can't be the cookies. Obviously you need to ask your docs about this mystery
-
My weight gain is a follow up of BC, too. I was goal weight when diagnosed in 2009. My blood pressure and cholesterol are higher, too, since I began taking arimidex. All in all, I'm taking 4 additional meds since dx. Arimidex, effexor for the SEs, lipitor and metformin for elevated sugar. The latter is probably hereditary.
I made pizza from scratch last night for dinner and wasn't up on the scales this morning! Yea! It was delicious but not loaded with salt and I ate two pieces with a large salad. WW is right about portion control and control of ingredients in our food. Plus making the pizza was easy and fun.
Hang in here, everyone.
-
I know it's not Wednesday, but it IS the first of the year, so wanted to 'weigh in'.
145.
I don't know what my ultimate goal is, for now my goal is to get into the 130's! By my 50th birthday which is in March. Emminently doable.
Purrs,
Jenn

Great work mpeaches !
-
good for you, mpeaches! Keep up the progress.
-
125 - 5'6-1/2"
A LOT lost. Most of it, in the right way, slowly, strongly, intelligently, over time, and at the right time, not the time when you need to hold on tight no matter what the scales say.
BTW, anyone, whatsoever, who needs help or a support person, pm me. I'd be honored to help anyone! I believe in you! ALL the way!
-
Happy New Year everyone. I've been off the boards for a few weeks so thinking of this as a new start and will 'officially' weigh in on Wednesday. Today's my birthday so all bets are off for eating and exercising. I know I'm up several pounds but it's a new year and going to be a new me on several fronts, just not today!
-
Happy Birthday, Patoo!
-
Happy Birthday Patoo!
-
Thanks for the responses gals!! I went away for a few days-- very nice... And I found my bowels were still alive this past weekend--not sure what did it but I will take it. I am also on a low dose diuretic so I hope that helps. So for the new year-- low starchy carbs.... just what the chemo craves. I will psot my actual weight on thrusday when I go for chemo-- gotta put i right up front. I don't care that I am my normal weight just 130# would be nice....
-
Happy birthday, Patoo!
-
Back tomorrow to WW......................I walked 1 mile today.............my daughter called and said "Mom I'm going to the gym I will be over to pick you up in 10 minutes".......................................did I want to go...................hell no................but I did, kicking and screaming all the way..................
It is so frigging cold here in Pa................I have probably shivered off another "4 ounces"...............Lord I hope the receiptionist can handle the excitement..........................................trust me, if I lose 4 ounces tomorrow I will be overjoyed................I might even do a happy dance with her, should she choose......................I'm figured more like a 2lb gain..........................hey do you think the 1 mile walk helped........................that would be a NO......................more later........
.............my face when I get the bad news.......................
-
Happy Birthday Patoo!! Capricorns rock!!
Down .7 - yes, there's a decimal point there, but I'll take it. Good thing I don't go to your WW class, Ducky - my .7 would probably give that woman a heart attack!!! Good for your daughter dragging you to the gym - can you ship her to me so she can drag me out on the days when I don't feel like working out???
-
Down 2 pounds......not because of any great strength of will but due to a nasty bout of stomach flu over New Years......maybe it will be the jump start I needed!
-
Got on the scale yesterday, was 143 something, very pleased. Got on the scale today for the 'official' Wednesday weigh in and was 146.8 NOT pleased. We had dinner at a friends last night, so I'm blaming salt (though it didn't taste salty) and not pooping yesterday.
Hopefully it just means that next Wednesday will be much better!
Puffy purrs,
Jenn

Well ladies...............................I gained....................different woman, and I said "oh I really don't want to see this"..........................she looked at the computer "that is what WW d;oes now", and said "oh your just a little over a 1lb gain"...........................I would like to take their absolutely "sunny bullshit", and say "yea, and that 1lb gain, just cost me another $9.00...........................well considering what I did (unless I was not as bad as I thought)...............I guess I should be happy................"little miss sunshine, and all".................oh well there is always next week........................
