Carcinosinum

Options

Hi.  I am new to homeopathic medicine, and just had my first appointment with a ND last week.  I finished all traditional treatments in May this year, and started out by changing my diet drastically during the summer.  So now I am plant based and feeling really good about it. I made the ND appt. b/c I want direction.  Anyhow, she recommended several supplements, regular exercise, filtered water, lots of green tea, and guided imagery/relaxation. (And some other lifestyle stuff too)

In addition, due to my high anxiety levels lately and problems sleeping, she prescribed Carcinosinum.  It's taken by mouth weekly for 8 weeks, after which I will start taking Cortisol Manager.

As I mentioned, I have a lot of anxiety lately - recurrence, mets, etc.  And in my research, I see that Carcinosinum is derived of cancerous cells.  I am hesitant to take it.  (Although I did take the first dose before I researched it).  Just looking for some comfort or guidance related to homeopathic remedies in general and why I should not be worried about putting this in my body.  Does anyone have experience with it?  Thanks for any info!

Hi Sara - it's my opinion that homeopathic remedies, because they are energetic medicine, can't hurt. The original substance is diluted so many times that literally nothing of it remains except the "energy". It seems to me the worst that can happen is it has no effect, and you need a different remedy, or are paying for nothing. I do believe that homeopathy, if you happen upon the right remedy, works beautifully, as it cured me of an evil, long-lasting, undiagnosible rash that my dr coudn't figure out. I was going to have to wait 3 months to see a dermatologist, went to my local classicl homeopathist, and the rash started to improve the next day, by day there was no doubt, and by 10 it was gone, never to return.

I too would be wondering about taaking a remedy called carcinosinum, though!

My other experience with homeopathy was at mx surgery. I consuted same person to find something to help me through surery. The remedy, whose name I forget, was supposed to be useful for "knife wounds" haha - well, its odd but true - the home nurses who attended me every day after surgery could hardly belive the rate at which my incision healed. Luck, just me, the remedy? we'll never know.....

    All the best to you!

I think if you are uncomfortable with taking this homeopathic medicine, then ask your ND to explain it to you in more detail.  If you are still not comfortable...don't take it.

Sara, I have been reading about this lately. Here are the links. Allegedly, there are certain types for whom this works. See if it fits. Doesn't fit me. http://www.bcmets.org/articles/146266

Let us know what you think.

Thanks to you all for your replies.  I spoke to my ND and told her I just have too much anxiety about putting carcinosinum in my body.  I'm pretty sure she would never recommend something dangerous to me, but I just can't do it.  She understood.

Melizzard - it actually does fit me according to that article and to other stuff I've read about "carcinocin" people.  I think it could probably help me, but I can't get past the cancer part of it.
