Jan 3oth, 10 yr stage 2BTN survivor!
Hi everyone! I havent posted here in a long while, but wanted to stop by as I am approaching ten years since my diagnosis..Im praying that someone will read this and that it will give them some peace and hope! I rememeber how scared I was..I was diagnosed at 42 and never thought I would see 50..but here I am! just celebrated my 52nd birthday, and I have a feeling that someday...well in forty years to be exact, that I will be celebrating my 92nd! So to all of you out there I say..keep the hope, and may you find peace in your hearts and minds!
I have a plaque in my home which has a saying by Abraham Lincoln it reads...and in the end its not the years in your life that count, Its the life in your years!
Blessings to each of you!

Thank you Patti. I so needed to hear this today. I have finished lumpectomy and chemo and I'm now moving on to radiation. Sometimes I just want to give up but I still have so much to live for! Thanks for sharing! And I hope in ten years I too can pop back in and give my own words of encouragement!
HUGS!

Patti3 - thank you for this!! I was diagnosed on 12/1/11 at 47 and am just starting this crappy journey. I had my genetic counseling today and took the BRCA1 and 2 test. The counselor was going over things like statistics and recurrance rates and on my way home I thought, I'd LOVE to hear from a long-time TN survivor! And YOU are it!! That's fantatic! I wish you many, many more birthdays! You are truly an inspiration!

Thank you Patti, You are a few years ahead of me. I had my diagnosis on Jan 10th, it's hard to believe it's been four years already. I just got brave enough to do reconstruction & I'm doing well.

mrsnjband..time does go by so quickly doesnt it? recon was not an easy decision for me either-having to go through more surgeries was really a tough decision. I waited two years after my treatments ended, had some problems with my port which also held things up, but im very glad that I had it done! its not perfect, but i feel more like my old self! Best wishes to you! and Happy New Year!
