Thanks, yes I am talking to two. and also thinking of going to another person. I have weigh my options.

Kira I am also allergic to antibiotics - now I am not even sure that was on the medical questionnaire I
gave in to the MO yesterday when I was there. I will be sure to bring it to his attention when I speak to him.

It is important if you will be getting TC/4 which is what I was on. I know some places give benadril with the chemo treatment. Where I went they didn't include it with the infusion, but would be added as needed.

Thansk Kira for the heads up. Its good to know this info

Bela, you can call the office...even of your primary care doc..and ask for an anti-anxiety med. It may just help take the edge off so you can process it. I was so reluctant b/c hubby works at night so I'm home with my 5 year old, and the doc said, "Oh, this won't knock you out. It's just going to be what you need to think straight." She was so right.
I can't recall who said it on the last page...but we're young. We've got the next 40 years to look forward to, so this year will suck. I have 2 girlfriends with alopecia, and every time I want to get annoyed by my hair I keep thinking that for them it's forever and for me this will be over soon.

I did BMX with immediate TE reconstruction. No nodal involvement. Surgeon got very good margins (everyone agrees). My Oncotype score came in at 16, putting me in the grey area (low recurrence range). Before surgery, my MO said she was 90% sure I'd do chemo because of my age (43) and fact that the tumor was larger than 2cm... After we got the Oncotype test back, she was 50/50 on the chemo, but finally said that if it were her, she's in her mid 30's, she would do the chemo.
She said if it were the chemo that caused potential second cancers or heart damage, she would skip it. So, today, I had my first of 4 TC chemo treatments and I feel fine.
When I met with her before my treatment, I mentioned what another woman posted last night about the experts revising the Oncotype "groups" and making them lower (under 11 will be considered low risk) and she confirmed that this was true. I hope everyone out there gets that info from their MO. I've seen women with slightly higher scores than mine deciding that because they're under or right around 20, they're turning chemo down. I had myself psychologically prepared for it anyway, so decided to go ahead with it. Knowing they're revising those scores "down" it's a no-brainer.
