    I had my routine mammogram back in October, and a "loose grouping" of microcalcifications were found. For insurance reasons, I decided to wait until the first of the year for my biopsy. I haven't really given it much thought, but as it approaches (Jan. 9), I am getting nervous. I really don't want to go through this again. Frown

    I am sorry you have to do the tests and worry thing again...  There ain't much good to say...except that at least this time around, the surprises will be fewer and you are going into it knowledgable and armed with experience.  I hope that it turns out to be one of the 80% benign...  Hang in there...  Claire

    is it the same breast?  did you have rads the first time around.

    No, this time it is in the opposite breast, and yes, I did have rads 2 years ago. Last time the grouping of microcalcs was more of a cluster. This time it seems to be more scattered, which is a good thing. I was a BIRAD 3, so biopsy might not even be necessary, but my surgeon wants to biopsy because of my history. I'm hoping when I get to the hospital Monday and have the first mammogram, that he decides there's nothing worthy of biopsying. (Is that a word?) Smile

    Good Luck on Monday.  My second time around was DCIS with invasion althoug small 3mm no nodes. ER/PR + HER2-.  Saw the MO yesterday his suggestion would be Rads, Tamoxifin 5 years and Lupron for 3-5 years.  Oh joy....oh and BTW you can still have a MX if you want.  I have no clue what do do.  I told him i wanted an oncotype dx test done, he says he doens't usualy order for any size smaller that 1cm.  But said he would do it.  I need all the information in front of me to make a decision.  Why am i so afraid to just say cut them off?

    bojo, because cutting them off isn't pleasant and you don't want to have to do it. I have been thinking the same thing... if I have cancer in the other breast, should I just have the MX? I guess I will cross that bridge when/if I come to it. Was the second time for you in the same breast? What did it look like on the mammogram? Mine is scattered (a loose grouping), but I suppose it can still be cancer, or they wouldn't be doing a biopsy. Frown Ugh! I really don't want to go through this again!! I will pray for you as you make a decision. Hang in there!!
