New calcifications other breast

Options

Hi everyone!

I went for my 6 month after radiaton follow up.  I had invasive tubular carcinoma in my left breast with 6.5 weeks radiation, followed by tamoxifen.  I am on a tamoxifen break now because of so many side effects.

At my 6 month mammo, they found hazy clustered calcificatons in my right breast.  And something else they say is a leasion.  I just cannot believe that this is happening.  I thought I was done.  I am 55, and still get my period.  I am wondering if the hormones have anything to do with this, and am I doing all I can with just seeing my onc. and bs.  I know for sure I will need another biopsy, because of high risk.  And the radiologist said not to worry, looks like DCIS.

Funny thing is nobody in my family has BC but me.

Biopsy scheduled for January 4th on two different areas of the breast. One is for the calcificatons that were seen on the mammo and the other I requested for another area they are just watching.  I figuired as long as they are probing my boob, I might as well get it over with to be sure.

Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Lesley, so sorry you are going thru this.  ...especially during Christmas.  Isn't it strange that you have to be the one to suggest they check the other area at the same time??? Seems common sense to me.  Well, at least you are catching it early.  Makes me think...they did not mamogram my good breast at 6 mo, only the affected breast.  UndecidedYou will be in my prayers...

Best wishes, Lesley.  I hope the biopsy goes okay, always best to have things checked out, especially because you are high risk.  Wishing you the best.

Thanks everyone... funny thing is, I am not high risk , or at least wasnt before the left breast cancer.   Oh well, life changes.  Happy New Year and good health in 2012.

lesley I sure hope everything comes out B9.  I just had the same thing happen.  Went for my one year mammo and US and they found a lump in my so called good breast.  Had to have a surgical biopsy as my MO wanted it out no matter what. Luckily it turned out B9 but the process was mentally exhausting.
