How long did it take you to get mri results?

    I always call the place where the MRI was taken and let them know i'm coming to pick up my report and a copy of the actual MRI disc. It shouldn't take over 48 hours at the most to get your results varying on where it was done.

    I've learned to ask how long it will take to get my results and I state I would like to obtain a copy of the actual test report. Many test centers send out a results letter but it usual does not contain detailed information.

    Depending on where the test is read can affect the time it takes to get the results. Some tests are read in-house while others are read at outside facilities, sometimes to another country. When scheduling atest ask who will read the test, where it will be read, and when you will get the results.

    I think 5-10 days in the USA is extremely long. I always have mine the next morning even for a brain MRI. I'd call and see if they're ready.

    oops. p.s... I always ask for a CD copy of my scan before I leave and call the next day to get a copy of the radiologist reports. I always keep my own copies of all tests.

    Susie123- Yea!  So glad you also got good  news.  For me, my headaches are hormonal.  I get migraines with my period.  Joy.  Hope your headaches go away!
