Long story short, my old DO/orthopod passed away, so I saw the new doctor at his practice.

She felt that some adjustments/manipulation can help the LE. It is the same areas as with MLD, but it is kind of different.

She worked on the area under my ribcage which was sore at first. She also feels she can release my anchor scars and that will help.

A new approach or pie in the sky?

(by the way I baked cookies for a party and there is literally dough all over my computer, but they are awesome and beautiful!)

Nordy, when I had a frozen shoulder, I got myofascial release massage from the PT, and it was clearly helpful, and she worked on my chest and scars as well.

I would just be aware of how deep she works, and how your body responds.

Lymph doesn't flow through scar tissue, so releasing scars should help. It just has to be done mindfully.

How appropriate you type through cookies!

Kira, what do you think about the adjustment/manipulation?

I think if it's done carefully and not too forcefully, it might be helpful.

The goal should be no pain, no redness, no swelling.

Maybe educate her on LE, and talk to her about your concerns, and see how it goes:

Cookie, I had success with myofascial release breaking up scar tissue, and it has helped with LE flow. My guy is very careful, and I have felt so much better after sessions. I will even notice improved drainage within a day or two. He has worked on the intercostal area between the ribs, which also has the effect of stimulating lymphatics in that area. It could be breaking up scars or just working the lymphatics, or a combination, but it definitely worked for me. There have been a couple of times when I had a slight amount of swelling after a session, but with lots of water and MLD, it went away by the next day. Interesting thing about myofascial is that it has the same effect on me as a MLD session, and I have to urinate immediately after. My guy always provides water and encourages it after a session.

    Sorry your MD passed.
