MX and radiation, six weeks out-

Hi, I had neoadjuvant chemo, uniMX, radiation with 5 boosts following by another six cycles of chemo (halfway through that.) I am about 10 weeks post radiation (can't change the title, was farther out than I thought) and still have tenderness in my ribs and sternum on the radiated side.  I am trying to break up any adhesions along the scar by massaging around there. My skin looks good but I have the "drawing" sensation, particularly in the morning which is probably not helped by the fact that I haven't been getting much exercise due to the combination of fatigue from this new chemo regimen and working at a desk 10-12 hours a day when I can.

Is this normal? Thanks in advance for any insight, experience, suggestions, etc. I am going to PT for now and have my scar stretched - the muscles along my ribcage have contracted - but not sure if I will financially be able to continue PT next year.

The chemo is preventing you from healing properly with redards to the radiation. Remember what the PT is doing and/or have someone go with you so you can do it at home.

Thanks! You know, I hadn't considered that the chemo might be interfering - that is certainly possible. I am on eribulin/Halaven. Yeah, the PT is stretching an area that he admitted is very difficult to stretch on my own - I don't know if someone else could do it without hurting me but I'll ask him if he thinks they could- good idea.  Part of the PT routine I can do at home.

I wish you luck and hope someone can do it at home. That would also save you time from needing to go to yet another appointment. I feel like sometimes that;s all I do is sit and wait for appointments.  I only lasted 3 weeks of the lymphedema therapy because I get tired of the appointments.
