FOR VICTIMS OF ABUSE  DiamondGirl wrote:

    Prayer for Healing

God of endless love, ever caring, ever strong,

always present, always just : you gave your only Son to save us by the Blood of his Cross.

Gentle Jesus,  shepherd of peace, join to your own suffering the pain of all who have been hurt in body, mind and spirit by those who betrayed the trust placed in them.

Hear our cries as we agonize over the harm done to our brothers and sisters.
Breathe wisdom into our prayers, soothe restless hearts with hope,

steady shaken spirits with faith: show us the way to justice and wholeness,

enlightened by truth and enfolded in your mercy.

Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts, heal your people's wounds and transform our brokenness.

Grant us courage and wisdom, humility and grace,

so that we may act with justice and find peace in you.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

    Amen

    Beloved Lord,

I pray today for my family, not only the family that shares my DNA but also those who share my faith. As you know, families are complicated, and I've told you plenty about my daily problems with this one or that one. Expectations run high. Wounds run deep. There are dysfunctions that only You can unravel, and so I ask you to bring your wisdom and power into these situations. And I also pray for those caring friends who have gathered around me as a second family. Thank you for their support, and I ask You to support them in their various needs. Let love reign in my heart, my home and theirs as well.  This is my deepest prayer.  Amen!

    Evening Prayer (St. Augustine)
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
    or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who
    sleep.
Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
    Rest Your weary ones,
    Bless Your dying ones,
    Soothe Your suffering ones,
    pity Your afflicted ones,
    Shield Your joyous ones,
And all for Your love's sake.  Amen.

    St. Francis
May the LORD bless us and keep us; may the LORD make his face to shine upon us, and be gracious to us; may the LORD lift up his countenance upon us, and give us peace.

The Spirit comes to help us in our weakness. For when we cannot choose words in order to pray properly, the Spirit himself expresses our plea in a way that could never be put into words, and God who knows everything in our hearts knows perfectly well what he means, and that the pleas of the saints expressed by the Spirit are according to the mind of God.

Thank you, Lord, for the wonderful people you have brought into my life.  There have been many rich friendships with people who shared my joys and sorrows alike.  You have also inspired leaders to teach me and guide me in faith.  You have allowed me to have influence on others as well.  Thank you, Lord, for this holy community of faith.  I don't know what I'd do without them.

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.

    **********************************************************************************

Today, dear Lord, as an act of faith, I declare my trust in you out loud!  I say, "The Lord is my refuge, my fortress, the God in whom I place my trust!"  I will say it as I get ready to greet the day, as I move from place to place, as I take my meals, and when I lie down to rest.  Let each declaration seal the truth to my heart and mind.  Thank you for being my shelter and safe place during this storm of my life.  I'll say it again, "You are my God, in whom I trust."  Amen!

Saw this and thought I'd share it:

    Criticism or Creativity in Self,Others

Criticism can be very subtle in the way it creeps into our thoughts and simply become a bad habit.  Here are some examples of criticism to help you become aware of its existence in your life or in the life of someone we know.   The weather is awful today. The traffic is terrible. The service is really bad. Oh no, look at the line. He/she is always late. How many times do I have to repeat myself to them?  My husband is a slob. My wife is a nag. My kids are bad. God hates me.  It's so hot in here. I've been on hold for so long!.  These are some of the thoughts in my own head and some of the statements from many people I meet throughout my day. We all have the ability to appreciate something in every single circumstance. There is always something to be grateful for.

Today- try to count the many negative thoughts you hear in your head . Try to count the negative things you hear out of the mouths of those around you.

Here are some ways to turn criticism into creative prayers:  Lord, please use the rain to care for your creation. Lord, while I wait for this traffic, who can I pray for? Lord, the service is not good but please bless the person at the counter.  Lord, thank you for my husband. Lord, thank you for my wife. Lord, bless my children and thank you for them. Thank you for the warm hot weather that keeps the flowers blooming. (The list goes on).

Remember, that complaining is so easy.  But, creative prayers and thoughts can turn your day into a wonderful experience.

Science has proven that endorphins are released and serotonin levels rise when we do good deeds for others. Dopamine gets released as we calmly think good thoughts and bring cheer to others.

HAPPY FRIDAY and remember - No eye has seen and no ear has heard and no mind can conceive what God has for us !  Keep the faith ! GOD IS FOR YOU !

Kay-------- I thought the whole thing was so true to what should be and isn't.  Thank you, I transferred it to the prayer archive. It's good for the soul.              I hope your twin is managing and the boys. It is such a tough thing to go through.  I did individual counseling after Greg died. In retrospect, I question, if going to group grief counseling would have helped as an adjunct to my individual counseling.  Just a thought. L&H&P's Namaste Sheila

I pray for peace - but sometimes, I can't find it with both hands and a flashlight.  I can forgive ignorance; I cannot forgive malice and inconsideration.  Those are the "friends" who really aren't, never were, and cannot be again.  I don't ask for much, simply patience, kindness, and respect. Maybe that's just too much to ask for some times             written by: NancyHB

Instruction re the Divine Mercy Chaplet follows day nine of the novena which is on the next page.

the first day of the Divine Mercy novena, Christ asked Saint Faustina to pray the following prayer for the sake of all mankind, especially sinners. She recorded the following words of Our Lord in her diary: "Today bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me."

Prayer for the First Day of the Divine Mercy Novena

Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy for ever and ever. Amen
