I have decided!

Hi Ladies,

Well I spoke with my breast surgeon, the plastic surgeon and the oncologist...my decision is to have a PBM! I do not plan on any reconstruction. I hated the plastic surgeon (if that b**ch told me one more time that I had very saggy breasts, I was gonna pop her in the face). The oncologist agreed with me that the safest, best decision was the PBM. I am anxious to have this behind me and plan to have the surgery in early 2012!

For all of you who gave me such wonderful advise upon my dx...my beautiful granddaugher was born on 11/15/11. She is the reason I am so very hungry for life! I want to see this beautiful angel grow up! I will keep you all posted when I have a surgery date and hope for all your prayers for an uneventful surgery.

Thank God for Breastcancer.org!

You GO grandma!  You should have popped her one, that bee-yatch needs a wakeup in how to talk to patients.  Best of luck with your surgery!

Im so glad you're happy with your decision. The ps had no idea what she was messing with or how lucky she was to get out of the consult with all her teeth! Enjoy your grand angel and best of luck with your surgery x

(((Maryellen)))...I am having my PBM TOMORROW (eeek!) with no recon.  When I started realizing that a PBM was the course I'd be taking, my first reaction was that I didn't want reconstruction.  My friends all thought I was nuts (but my hubby and daughter were/are wonderfully supportive).  I met with a PS who was so 'excited' as he told me how he'd take my back muscles, flip them around and form breasts (all I could think of was longer surgery, longer recovery time, greater risk of infection, etc).  When I shook my head no, he proceeded to tell me about TEs.  Again, I said No.  He was surprised and kept asking me if I was sure and I told him that my decision was made before I entered his office, he just confirmed my instinct.

Don't get me wrong...I'm glad that there are so many recon options available for those who want it and I wish them the very best of luck Smile.

Big hugs to you and your beautiful granddaughter!
