Anyone had one of these?  I have to have one tomorrow to find out if BC has come back and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into how this biopsy goes and if its painful?  Thanks for any help you can give?

Since no one answered I will tell you all about it.  You lay on a table with the affected breast thru a hole where they "mash" it like a mammogram and tell you to be very still.  They take more pictures and then wait for the doctor.  Doc comes in and tells you there will be a pin prick and then she numbs the area.  Then she says there will be a puff and a pinch in 3, 2, 1 and then you feel the puff and the pinch.  Then they begin the "drill"....sounds like a drill that goes in and sucks part of the area out to be sent for biopsy.

All in all I'd say that the anticipation is worse than the actual event.  Some pain but mostly pressure and a pinching sensation.  Will find out Monday what's what.

Omg that sounds scarey. Why do they do that instead of s regular biopsy? Keeping fingers crossed ghat you get good news x

As wrsmith2x said that is how the procedure is supposed to go. Mine was the same procedure but very painful because first they did not numb me enough and then the little tags they put where they do the biopsy would not deploy so it rammed in to the other side of my breast into not numb territory. They said they were sorry and that was not supposed to happen so I had ice packs on both sides of my breast and huge brusing to follow. Go figure, I would be the one to have a problem with procedure and malfunctioning machine. Hope that no one else has it rough like I did. Praying for good results for you.
