How much do you hate those ginormous hospital gowns?

I'm 5'2" and weigh 120 pounds.  These gowns that are provided are so big I can wrap the thing around me twice, except for the ridiculous arm openings to accommodate IVs, which no one needs for radiation treatments.  It took me ten minutes to solve this problem.

I cut a soft t-shirt down the middle of the back, then sewed on two pairs of ribbons to use as ties - one pair at the neckline and one in the middle of the back. You could add more ties or use velcro. I wasn't trying to be too pretty, just wanted my own thing that would fit way better than the gowns. I'm going to make another one with ties down the middle of the front for those "frontal" exams.  Or you can wear both if you're worried about total coverage.  Cotton t-shirt material won't unravel, so you don't even need to finish the seams. I used pinking shears to make my cut, but I don't think it would matter. If you're worried, use some iron on hem tape, fold it over and make a folded seam.

No more tripping on all that ridiculous fabric, either!
