Metastasis ER-, PR-, Her2+
Have you had a metastasis? I think I'm in your group but it hasn't been confirmed yet. I'm in the middle of my AC (eventually H) regimen. What happened to you? What regimen did you try after you were diagnosed with metastasis?

I was originally dx with IDC and DCIS -- ER-/PR-, HER2+, I had a lumpectomy and axillary node dissection 2/8 malignant. Then AC x 4, 12 weekly Taxol with concurrent Herceptin. Once the Taxol was done, I continued on Herceptin and had 30 rads. While in the midst of my rads tx and still on Herceptin, I was dx with IBC. They stopped the Herceptin (I had been on it for 9 months by this time) and switched me to Tykerb and Xeloda. I took both for 6 months and then stopped the Xeloda right before my uni-mx but continue on Tykerb to this day for a total of 2-1/2 yrs. I have also been NED for 2 years!

Hi Faith316 Why were you taken off Herceptin? I thought it was the wonder drug for Her2.

I was diagnosed July 2010 and started TH August 2010. Towards the end of the TH I developed skin mets on the cancer breast. Went on to EC. At time of surgery there was no cancer remaining in the skin and the huge tumor I had was completely gone. I had some residual cancer in 2 nodes and in the lymphatics. I continued with herceptin until this past November at which time I had another Pet/Ct which showed liver mets and was confirmed by MRI and biopsy. I recently started Xeloda and Tykerb. Given the great response to neo-adjuvant chemo, my doctors were all surprised at the mets. My husband and I went through a period of anger. After all, we've done everything we were supposed to do, both medicinally and spiritually. Now we're back on track. We know that we are all in God's Hands, at His Mercy. Everything works out according to His Purpose. It's just hard to accept sometimes.
I pray for "all clear" for you, medinorth. When will you know more? -
medinorth,
herceptin is a wonder drug for most women but it didn't work for me. I recurred while still on it (and in the midst of the my radiation treatments) so they took me off of it.
Redwolf --- Xeloda and Tykerb did the trick for me when all my other chemos did not. best of luck to you.

Hi Medinorth,
I was diagnosed at 40. The Oncologists 'threw the kitchen sink at it and Herceptin didnt work for me.
I have had a recurrence which was removed. Thank God there was no spread.
Herceptin has been stopped. Because I am NED, no further treatment has been recommended. I am now on 3 monthly 'watch'.
I expect NED to continue indefinately. I live in the now, giving thanks for every day I get to spend with my darling husband and sons (13 and 6).
May you be blessed with vibrant health (((HUGS)))
