    Claire, have a great cruise!!!

US  appeared ok, but to be sure its fluid around the scar, a biopsy next week!  I'm really not worried, either was the mammo or the US tech (same one I had last year that was right about my diagnosis and node neg) anyway, like she said, if you feel it, we look at it!!  Fine by me!!!  I'm sure its scar tissue, but in the event its not, I'm really ok, cuz I certainly don't have the fear of dealling with the "unknown" been there done that, hopefully forever!!

Have a wonderful time on the cruise Claire!

msjag:  I think the techs are pretty accurate about what is C and what is just fluid.  I feel like my rads breast changes almost weekly...some weeks it seems hot, some cold, some hard, some soft. I think it's all just the healing process!

My wonderful surgeon personally called me up this evening to tell me that he truely believes it is scar tissue that is seen on ultrasound, and to go ahead and have the biopsy just for confirmation.  I can't believe I'm not worried, no ativan, no sleeping aids...guess knowledge is power!!

    Hope everyone is doing well!!!

msjag: Great news about your surgeon feeling it's just scar tissue! Let us know how the biopsy goes. Hubby is back to normal and things are good here. Cool

GirlFriday: Glad to hear you got that wood stacked. Just in time! We had frost on the ground this morning...and SNOW in the forecast!!

Claire: Hope you are having a wonderful time on your cruise! You had me laughing out loud with the vision of you wearing your foobs to the pool but not for dinner. You really could have a lot of fun with that...Now you see 'em, now you don't. haha!!

Hope you are all doing well. You are all in my thoughts.

msjag-Hope your biopsy goes well and its just some nasty ol' scar tissue!! Isn't it funny how we get excited about scar tissue these days? Sandy-glad to hear hubby is back to speed. All you northern gals getting used to the cooler weather? We've dropped down to the 70-80's---why I live in Florida!! :)

Decided not to take foobs with me on cruise. Guess I'm pretty used to the flat look during the day--just not so much at the pool. Couldn't find a suit that doesn't have  a bra in it so I settled for a tank. Worked out just fine! My sisters and I just relaxed and yakked all weekend--did NOT want to go back to work yesterday!!

Still no word on biopsy, hmmm...hoping that is good news!!  My kids are all flying home for 5 days, haven't seen them since a year ago, right before I started treatment.  They can't wait to see my curly hair in person!!  My 5 yr old granddaughter coming home too.  And...I'm starting to get a cold ugh...taking extra c and echanacia (spelling is off !)

Claire, so glad you had a relaxing time with your sister on the cruise.  My sister lives in Cocoa Beach, and is always wanting me to fly down and go on a cruise with her.

Hope everyone is doing well!  Snow is just about a memory here in MA, how about you Girlfriday? 50's and 60's this week, heat wave...whoo hoo!!

Hi ladies, just thought I would drop a line. I have a check up on Tuesday with my MO, bloodwork and for the first time EVER, a chest xray. Why am I nervous? I am curious to see if rads did any damage to my lungs, since it seems I tire so much easier now-a-days. I blame much of my symptoms on the stress of my job. Wednesday was my last day so hopefully the stress will start melting away. My big hope is that she will say I can get my port out. Dec 23 will be the anniversary of my last chemo. Think its been in long enough??

Hey cmblastic!  I ate too much too!  And I get the tire easily thing.  I'm not sleeping well, and usually by 8 pm I'm so exhausted I fear I can't make it up the stairs to bed.  That's not how I used to be.  I blame the Tamoxifen on the sleep issues, but I'm starting to wonder if it's just me. Hope they take that port out!

msjag:  We've had 20" of snow this season already!  Of course most of it's melted so it's just a soggy mess It took my 1.25 hours for a commute that is normally 40 minutes, last Wedneday.  Ugh!  I hear this winter is supposed to be a snowy one...I think we've kicked it off properly!

Claire, good luck with your tests, I wanted to ask for a chest xray too, just to have a baseline and see what damage rads did.  Sending positve energy your way.

GirlFriday, we had that storm down in MA too, just a memory with the 60 degree weather we've been having!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Lots of ticks out there though, so we do need a good frost!

Just checking in and glad to see everyone is *passing* their tests - yahoo!  Right side still tender, I think that radiation lasts a lot longer than they want to tell us.  Parts still swell up also.  I am actually thinking of going bra shopping.  I wonder if I can find a bra that is size B on one side and C on the other?

It's just a few days before my cancerversary...I find I'm going through very similar emotions to what I experienced last year this time...Crazy?  Most likely.  But it's justified.

GirlFriday, it is a mixed time, I remember. Sadness that you have been thru what you been thru, how life will never be the same. And then pure joy that you are still standing here. Hang on to that part. Next week is the anniversary of my last chemo. I look back at my holiday pics and see that bald sick looking person and I barely recognize her. Did I really go thru all that?

But yes you are justified. . .

HC- how did that bra hunt turn out? There are gels and pads that you can use in the one less perky side to even it out. That's something I don't miss, but I have yet to throw out my old bras. . .

GirlFriday...totally understand that...the emotions of yeah I made it..and what the heck happened last year, is this real" still come and go...remember having that chemo on Dec 23, and counting down the last two after that...seems a lifetime ago...and some days seems like yesterday... Glad to still have you all here, one year, with many more for all of us.

Genetic testing tomorrow, guess it was too quiet in my life!!  I now qualify!

Merry Christmas to all that celebrate, and a very Happy Healthy New Year to you.

wow, it's been forever since I have been on here...glad to hear that everyone is doing well.  I have been worrying  lately because my left breast has been sore.  I had the 2 lumpectomy's in Feb and March and then finished the rads in June, but it's just started to feel sore around the sternum area and to the left of it.  I seem to always get knocked in the boob by my 6 yr. old...her little head always seems to bump in when she comes to snuggle with me.  the other day I walked into the door jam and hit my entire boob on it...told my hubby to remind me of that if I complain in a few days about being sore.  Ever pain freaks me out.  Do any of you experience the stabbing pains and soreness...especially if you are due for your period?  I also have had a tiny bit of soreness under my arm..had a SNB and every once in a while feel sore there, but now I *think* it's a little swollen...sometime I wonder if I am imagining it.  I have just come down with a bad chest cold though, so I'm thinking it could possibly be enlarged nodes from that?  Had my liver MRI, PET scan and MUGA the beginning of Oct. and am due again the 2nd week of Jan...have been NED since April...always get nervous close to the time of my scans.  Stress of this time of year doesn't help...just wondering what you ladies are feeling...if any of this sounds like you?  Thanks guys!

I should probably add that I am still on Herceptin every 3 weeks and will be forever due to a MET to my liver, and I know that can cause joint pain...def have that, and my feet are killing me!  But I don't think that is what would be causing it.  I guess since our bodies have been thru the wringer, I should know by now that these feelings go with it.

My scars talk to me...and by that I mean..the tingle and itch and ache.  Definitly around my period my entire rads area seems to ache.  I would think that's because so much of the tissues was hammered by the rads, and now it's trying to grow or repair again, and hormones just antagonize it.  Lately I find that I'm touching my scar subconsciously...every time I "come to" and realize I was rubbing my scar, I get freaked out and wonder if anyone noticed!

    Merry Christmas everyone!!

The good, I think my podiatrist set me straight on sudden or lingering pains, nerve endings, chemo, rads, he said of course you can get pain for a year or two, some people more as nerves try to repair themselves, even if these nerves didn't bother you during chemo...I was getting burning on the side/top of my left foot...he explained that rads can touch our spine and effect many other areas besides those that were the target.  My eye doc said she will be watching my eyes as chemo can do damage "down the road"  again...we all know..the gift that keeps on giving..

GirlFriday I know what you mean, I just touch where ever I feel a twinge/ pain and then wonder if I've been showning some skin to strangers at the store!!!

Wishing you all a happy, healthy new year!
