"Going bare" (no treatment), markers doubled suddenly

Oncocologist called today.  He's concerned by a sudden, over 2 month, doubling of my Ca27.29 marker along with sudden severe back pain.  I thought I just strained something or slipped a disc around L5 pulling a grandbaby out from under the Chrstmas tree, but it hasn't gone away in 4 weeks and is no better with rest, NSAIDS, pain meds, back brace.  He's scheduled me for a bone scan.

I'm scared because I don't tolerate ANY aromatase inhibitors or Tamoxifen.  I've been "going bare" for the last year.

My original Dx was just old lady IDC with oncotype 7, rads (barely made it through), no chemo.  I tried everything for a year, mostly curling up and feeling like dying with agony.  It took months and surgery to recover from the effects. Doc said I would never have made it through chemo.

I had to face Christmas with my kids and their families at my house two years ago when I was first diagnosed, scared about surgery as asoon as possible after the holidays.  Now I have to face it all again with everyone coming again and a possible new and potentially lethal, new diagnosis.  Even if the bone scan doesn't show anything, there will be more expensive tests, and I thought the back pain was bad enough!  I'm going to ask for something to help get me through this.

Oh Alcie...I'm so sorry.  If you need something to get you through it, take it!

It's all so scary...wish I could offer something other than hugs, but those I offer freely.
