Interesting Insurance Benefits

So I found out today about some new benefits for my United Health Care insurance benefits.  I don't live in the middle of nowhere, but we don't have any wig or post MX supply stores.  I found out my insurance will cover the supplies at the "in network" discount despited it not being in network.  I have to ask for a "GAP" exception and there has to be no network places within 30 miles.   So the prothesis is $350, so out of network my OOP is 175, in network its $70!!  Huge difference for budgets.  

I also found out that I didn't like the local stores selection so I was able to find an online store that had a great selection but also a storefront and they are letting me have the gap exemption for the online store also!  It works for Wigs, Bras Prothesis, LE supplies... I hope this helps someone.  I didn't ask but the store called and the insurance company told the store.  PLEASE ask if you have a location exemption!  Hugs and all the best.
