Pets are good therapy

Oh Nancy so sorry !  Hopefully He will return.  I just lost my beloved pet of 17 years, who also went thru everything with me.  Sadly he is gone, he died.  I know the pain, it is sooo very empty in my house now......I take comfort by going to rescue shelter to play with their dogs.  It does help.  I,m also praying for your cats return and for you Nancy, as I know the pain you are going thru......Hugs Kiley

Nancy, my aunt's cat came back after going missing on the first day he was ever there.  I know how much pain you must be in, our furbabbies that go through treatment with us are just so very dear.  Have you checked at the animal shelter, maybe someone turned him in.  Karen

Nancy .. I'm saying a special prayer that your kitty comes home soon.  My cat got out one night and disappeared in the small wooded area behind my sister's house.  I called the Humane Society, made posters with his picture and put them all over the neighborhood. I was frantic all day and all night - I drove around looking for him - kept going to the back and front door calling him.  My sister came home at about 2 a.m. from work and heard a a"mew" spotted him and chased him into the woods where she finally caught him.  I felt this weight drop in my chest (I was asleep) and my sister saying here's your damn cat!  I read that cats do not go far from home.  He's probably around the apartment somewhere close.  Oliver was gone that night, all the next day and night until my sister found him at 2 in the morning.  Stay the course - he'll come home.

Nancy, strays are clever. All my pets were strays. When Eddie, my dog, went missing from home after something or other frightened him, he thought he was a goner when he still wasn't found after several days. Then one night, when we were almost asleep in bed, my DH heard whining. Her went out for a look and, sure enough, there was Eddie, skinnier than usual and trembling, but he had found his way home.

Then there's Billy, my cat. We had to leave him in the care of a cat-loving cousin when he was just over a year old, as we had to stay a while with my DH's parents, and his father hated cats. Anyway, shortly after leaving him with the cousin, Billy ran away. We and my cousin's DH looked for him everyday everywhere and even put up posters. It was a difficult task, as the cousin lived in a very urban area which was packed with apartment blocks, a neighbourhood unfamilar to Billy. And my cousin's unit was on the 4th floor of a block which looked very similar to the others near it.

Anyway, Billy suddenly turned up in her apartment a week later, looking rattled but otherwise fine. He had only lost a little weight. We suspect he had been nearby all along, perhaps even on the same floor, and some kind soul had been feeding him. 

If your furbaby is still roaming out there somewhere, he'll probably find his way back to you soon. Cats are smart and resourceful. Strays are even smarter. 

Oh Nancy, I am so happy you got him back from the nut job. Try to keep a close eye on him so the b!tch won't grab him again!

Nancy - I'm so glad your kitty is home and I hope you never have to run into this lady again.

When I run into mean nasty people I like to say a little prayer for their peace.  I want to beleive in people.  I assume they must have something horrible going on in their lives to be so irritable and feel sad for how hard it must be to be miserable all the time.

That said, geesh, what a Beatch!!!  I hope she doesn't have animals or children.

I can't tell you how relieved I am that your kitty came home (via that horrible woman).  I'm almost as relieved as you are to see him.  I remember how my stomach felt like someone punched me when I thought I had lost my cat.  BTW, my Oliver was a stray and he's stayed in the house for11 years.  I told him if he comes in, he stays in!  He would like to go out, but he's not going outside.  That was the deal!

oh, murphy is gorgeous!!!Nancy: as soon as you can, get him micro chipped!!!then, if he;s missing, you can go to that BSSSS house, and have her arrested... you have EVERY right to have your own cat! the nerve.. i went thru that YEARS ago. a yorkie we were washing, ran away from my kids.. we looked for hours, days.. then, the kids told me their friends saw him at our neighborrs house.. i went over, and she refused, like thaat lady did yu.. it was bf micro chips.. I called the police, had some vet bills to prove it was my dog.. i got him back, and the town attorney prosecuted her for dog knapping!!!so, a micro chip will porove hes yours.. id teach him a kitty litter in the house, or a leahs for now...what an awful woman!!!all i can say is Karma.. karma... karma...

Luv2trav ... I was just looking at Murphy again - he is so cute I could just kiss his muzzle a hundred times!

Ginger, The rescue lady is coming to my house again with 2 dogs. This will be her second visit to my house.  One dog is a 3 year old very well mannered and very attached to her handler.  She weighs about 60 lbs.  A mix mastif, pit, boxer, but does not have the size or agressiveness of those breeds.  Very submisive for those breeds.  She is 3 years old and her name is Buttons.  The other is Shelby, 3 months old and just a bundle of joy, very well behaved, shar pei, not sure how to spell that. When I went to rescue site, that pup would not leave my side, very protective, already !  Not sure I can handle a pup but......So, well see, I just know my house feels so empty with out my dear, sweet Chubs.  I live alone so.......I think it is best I rescue a dog ASAP......I've had some set backs with my health thru the years, so I want to make sure it is a good fit with my boyfriend in case .....So far, he likes both dogs very much too, and he will be over to play with the pups and help me decide......After play day we will go to shelter to play with pups, and see.  I like it that rescue lady takes such good care of her dogs and does not push.  She is very attached to all her dogs.  Very dedicated to her calling.  Merilee, I will try to send you my story, at some point, at this time I am so grieving the loss of Chubs, I'm afraid I would not do the story justice.....He was my port in the storm for 17 years......I am beyond words at this moment.....sorry to be so long winded here.  Hugs to All, Kiley

Kiley,  how could a dog named Buttons be aggressive?  Oh I know it is possible but it does sound improbable, dosen't it?
