Well had another mammogram this morning and they did more pictures and then they did an ultrasound and then......made an apoointment with a surgeon for a biopsy.  Crappity Crap Crap Crap!  I am so mad I could spit nails!  Not positive I have to be here again but it ain't looking good.  Directly behind where the first spot was.  If its back the breasts are coming off!

Are they sure it isn't just crap left over from a lumpectomy?? I've had mine "off" so if you need to ask any questions....go ahead.

Wasn't there last mammo and it has been 4 years since first bc....not part of the scar tissue.  Here's hoping it some hematoma or calcification!?

Things have to grow to a cerain size to be picked up by the technology. When do you see the surgeon??

Aw wrsmith so sorry to see you going through this again.  The waiting is horrible. I'm with you, crap crap crap.

    Here's hoping for the best.

I am on my first (and hopefully last) go around.  I went super agressive with BMX and immediate reconstruction, although I had only one lump, with all the goods signs.  I don't want to be back.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Wrsmith...you know that they are going to be super careful with you..I don't know how many times I have been told that...maybe it is calcifications????

Will be thinking of you!  Let us know!

And well...a lump/rads is just as effective as a masectomy...but whatever

    I'm with Titan.

Once you are in the "high risk" population, you get first class service.  Even if it turns up to be nothing.  And if it turns up to be something, you will be taken care of immediately.  Just take a deep breath and know you will likely get better treatment faster than a rookie.  That also means that you may need to make your choices quickly, but not in a moment of panic.  Never in a moment of panic.  Okay?  Breathe deeply.  Again.  Again.  Now decide what to ask the doc if you do have an issue again.  Make a list, my friend.  Be prepared.

A lot of people think that their breasts are their enemy if a tumor turns up, especially if it is not the first, but unless you have advanced disease or a BRCA gene, the removal and reconstruction can be much more invasive and life-altering than a lumpectomy, so if that is your choice, be sure it is well thought out.

We are all sending out our best hopes for you!

Here's hoping its nothing to be worried about. Just last month I had some scary moments after the mammo tech wasn't sure what she was seeing and went to consult the radiologist. It's especially maddening when you are so close to the five year cutoff point fou TNs.

Saw surgeon today and she did a needle biopsy....she is not encouraged....I will know on Thursday.....i am so mad and sad and my DH is beside himself!  He keeps apologizing to me even though there is nothing that can be done....it saddens me to see him like this.  He so wants to "fix this".  I still pray for a miracle!

Just so you know wrsmithx2, I had a needle aspiration a few months ago, and it was clear.  Not everything docs do to be sure there is no problem means there is a problem.  And until you know, you will be worried, but it does often turn up right.  Your DH is at your side.  What a good man he must be.  Some women here lose their partners when they get sick, and sometimes those men try to come back when the hard work is over, but it is too late for them.

wrsmithx2 - what a crappy, crappy thing to have to go through right now. You are in my thoughts. Will you be having further testing, such as an MRI, CT, or PET scan? Please keep us posted!

It is so hard on the husbands. Mine is a "fixer" as well - he is always asking me and my doctor what can we do to FIX this? Not necessarily cure it, but how can we stop this SE,or that SE. They feel helpless when there just isn't anything to be done but go through the process, and in your case, a second awful time.

I too hope this is a huge false alarm. Best to you.

Thanks for all the good vibes.  Inconclusive....not enough tissue to make a determination.  Will have another biopsy tomorrow and will know on Monday....ugh!

Bone scan scheduled for next Thursday.....Pet scan to be scheduled.

    I guess we keep waiting.....and waiting....and waiting.....

Oh Lord, how horrible to get results that are inconclusive and have to wait even further - that's a nightmare for sure and I'm am so truly sorry you have to go through this.  I know only too well how I'd be climbing the walls until Monday.  Please know you are not alone in your waiting, we are all right here with you, holding your hand and hoping that this will be nothing.  This sucks big time, for sure, but hang in there the best you can.  I hope she gave you some ativan?????????

    Gentle hugs,

    Linda

    wrsmith2x,

If you have to wait, give yourself a pass this weekend, okay?  Spend a day doing what you like to do.  If you have to do holiday stuff, involve the DH.  He needs to feel involved and needed.  It's important to preserve that bond if he is a good man.  The menfolk like to find a fix, but when they can't they can become frustrated.  So give him something constructive to do that makes a difference for the holidays or your family or for you.  Let him achieve something wonderful for you that will make him proud.  He can wash you car or set up a tree or go grocery shopping or wrap gifts or do the laundry.  He probably won't care what it is so long as he feels he is contributing to making things right.

Gee Smith2x...I was hoping to come here and read good news for you...so sorry you are still waiting to have this resolved...Dont let Drs negative attitude let you think the worst..About 5-years ago a lung specialist at MSK was convinced I had an early re-occurance in my lungs..he would not give me a pleasant prognososis in any way, manner, or form...and after 2-years of bi-monthly scans, glad to report he was wrong....Hope you can use my little tale as something to lessen your fears and calm you down a bit...You have always been so supportive to others on these boards and you truly deserve only good things....xoxoxP

A huge OH NO!  I can relate to how you must be feeling, having been diagnosed for the 2nd time with TNBC in Feb. (1st was 9 years ago) .  Like yours, my tumor was in the same breast in the same spot as the first time.  It is so unfair that you have to go through this all over again....my heart goes out to you.  And ditto on getting rid of both breasts after the 2nd diagnosis -- that's exactly what I did.  Really happy to have them gone....troublemakers!  Hang in there.

I'm so sorry!  Please keep us posted and try to distract yourself if you can until you get a treatment plan established.  No one should go through this once, much less twice.
