Decided I'm staying for ME!
Thank you thank you thank you. You are just amazing women who I can't thank enough! I have decided no one is going to keep me away from people I need and no one is going to make me hide! I was going to change my ID and have my posts deleted but I thought if I do that then I've given away my power and control and those are two things I'm not willing to give up right now. I'm doing this for me and if someone (family or friends) happens to come along my posts and doesn't like what I have to say screw them - this is about me and yes I'm going to be selfish and focus on me and my husband and children.
So I'm back and I'm not going anywhere! Thank you my new sisters!!!
PS - surgery is scheduled for Thursday December 8th - lumpectomy (both masses) with node removal.

Good for you.

Glad to see you back!
Best wishes for your surgery. If you wander over to the Surgery forum you will probably find some good ideas about how to prepare for that. I think they have a thread of 'hints' pinned.

Morning Kayce! So glad you are back! I had sent you a PM.... Also telling you that since your DS, (or does that mean D*** Sister?) already has read what you say, then it doesn't matter what ELSE you say!
You are among friends here....And you don't need un-supportive people in your life...Not now, and maybe not ever! Just don't let anyone chase you off this forum!
My surgery was Dec. 4th, 2009! And everything is going good! Just wanted to tell you, Welcome Back! Take good care.
-
Kayce, I am glad you made the choice to stay. When you have negative people in your life, it becomes even more important to surround yourself with positive. That is what you are doing here.
HOORAY!
Looking forward to getting to know you during your treatments and recovery.
-
Kayce, Welcome! We are so glad that you decided to stay. Good luck with your surgery this week. There will always be lots of support for you here.
-
I'm glad you decided to stay, Kayce. You need to stop communication with negative people and remember that at this time it is YOUR feelings that are important!
-
Kayce,
I read your previous post and am so happy to see that you chose the right path and opted to stay. Good for you. "Selfishness" (in this case, read "self care") - is good. Your feelings and experiences are valid. Glad you are not letting a family member drive you away.
Cancer has a way of sharpening one's priorities. Stay and say all you want for as long as you like, like the rest of us. Your sister is welcome to make other choices in her reading habits.
-
I'm proud of you!!! Now get your pretty avatar back up. The smile that lights up your posts...!!
-
Woot! Welcome back! I was hoping you would decide to stay!
Good luck on the 8th!!!
-
Good for you!! Discard problem people like a bad scarf! You don't need that crap at this point...

Good for you girl. I can't wait to send my mom back home. She broke her wrist 4 days before my surgery, and demands to be waited on hand and foot. It's been almost a month now. I had to FORCE her to go upstairs and use the toilet last week. She still wanted a bedpan downstairs. She doesn't like the stairs, and now with a broken wrist how can I expect her to use them? BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T BREAK YOUR LEGS!!
If my TE failed it's probably because I've had to tsake total care of her instead of healing myself. I HOPE YOU READ THIS MOM. Time to stop feeling sorry for yourself, its a broken wrist, not the end of your world. You should be WELL on the road to recovery.
Sorry, just had to vent. I know how it is Kayce. Everyone still thinks no matter how bad it is for us, they still have to be taken care of, and what's going on with us really doesn't matter. F*** them.
-
Oh my, Liz ... seriously LOL!!!!!!!!
I think I'm gonna like you!
-
Oh dear Liz - too funny - o,k. not too funny for you but still.....
Kayce you made the right decision - negative people seem to abound these days - I've cut a few out of my life (one was my brother - everything was and is always about him and that's been going on for over 60 years) - you are not alone - we're all here for you and will remain - let us know how you're making out.
Hugs, Sandy

Yay, Kayce! Liz, I would call my sibling and have him collect her! ugh.
-
I'm an only child. But She's getting around much better. Had to threaten her with a nursing home, and then drive up to one. Had a loud match about how I can not handle her on top of what I'm going through.
Seriously, she wants to be here "for me" at my next surgery, either to take care of a failed TE or when I get my squishies. HELL NO. Being alone and taking care of myself is preferrable.
I love my mom but I have to take care of me now. I told my kids to just take me out back and shoot me if I ever get that lazy/crazy/needlessly needyLiz -- Cribiform Carcinoma BMX with TE's
Diagnosis: 9/2011, 2cm, Stage IIa, Grade 1, 0/3 nodes, ER+/PR+
