I'm no expert just from the interpretation on your report result is 1.7 unamplified.
Negative (not amplified) = <1.8 - therefore you are considered neg for Her2 by the FISH test.
I had a friend dx at the same time as me Her2+ showed 2+ and tumour was sent for FISH which came back negative and therefore she received no herceptin with her chemo, unfortunately she developed a single bone met about 6 months post chemo and her original tumour was retested for Her2 and it was then reported positive, so now she is on Hercepin indefinitely.
Definately discuss with your Onc and push for Hercptin if any suggestion your Her2 +

bojo According to what you've posted it definitely sounds negative (the test range you've listed shows anything less than 1.8 as negative, 1.8-2.2 as equivocal and 2.2+ as positive)

LouLou,
Thank you, that's what i thought, but was thrown off by being HER2 2+ then being so close to the range. This path is from my first surgery 11/21, I went in thinking i had pure DCIS, turned out there was a very small amount of invasive cancer. I now have to go back in the 12th to get a clean margin and they are doing a sentinal node biopsy. Hopefully all goes well and i will have no nodes.

Thanks for your reponse, that's what i thought too.
