The solution to painful intercourse!!!!!! Yipeee!
Comments
-
There is a similar clinical trial with Metformin going on at the cancer centre here as well.
-
The SC works!!! DH and I finally got it together with a little bit of prodding on my end - he doesn't get the "timing" issue yet but I will educate him so by the time he figured he wanted "some" the lidocaine had worn off and I had to put some more in there.
There was a little bit of pain due to dh being impatient but dang.....no more of that slimy stuff (KY, etc.) all natural lubricating and it was wonderful. We are going out of town tomorrow and staying in the "honeymoon suite" - I will not forget my stuff!!!
-
What is so ironical is that we are staying in the same room where I discovered "I had a problem" and posted about painful intercourse as I was beside myself wondering what had suddenly happened and that is how I was directed to the Mojo thread. So here we are 2 years later in the same room and hopefully with tons of success!
-
OK, does anyone know where I can get the "scream cream"? I talked to my MO about it and she didn't know what it was. So I had her call the compounding pharmacy and they didn't know what it was. They had something that had topical viagra in it? No one seemed sure if it is safe for a BC patient, so she would not prescribe anything for me. Did give me the lidocaine but it is not enough. Help!
-
Good luck Jancie!! Anyones's Libido disappear after BC?
-
Cindy, look further up, there is comment that has a PDF attached with the ingredients. Print that out and take it to your doc.
-
I googled scream cream and there is website selling a product of the same name. Some ingredients seem to be the same as the compounded formula. Any key ingredient missing from what's in the compounded formula?
-
I sure hope not. I have the compounded one being made for me as we speak.
-
Frapp, I did that and showed it to her and she did not know what it was and won't prescribe it for me! the compounding pharmacy was not familiar with it either. Maybe I will print it out and take them a copy.
-
CindyT-
That's what I did. My MD didn't know of it, but he was okay with it, (no hormones) so he would write the script. He also said if I found it worked well, he wanted to know because he thought there would be other women patients who would like to know about it. The compounding pharmacy had heard of it, though. BTW, this was my primary, not my oncologist. Good luck.
-
I adore my oncologist. He just turned 70 the day after I turned 50. I really didn't want to bring this up to him! I saw my gyno for my annual and she informed me I have the innerds of an 80 y/o woman! She not only had heard of Scream Cream but had a printout for a compounding pharmacy! I took the printout to my onc to be sure the ingredients were OK. Of course, he'd never heard of any of it, seemed unclear as to what I wanted but I just pointed to different compounds and he approved the ingredients! Easy peasy. My shipment is in the mail

Zoh - thank you so much for being so open & sharing this! I cant wait to get a Dr's appointment to ask for it. Im hoping being in Canada wont be an issue. I spent 2 years complaining about lack of libido & the horrid razer like pain that came with intercourse. DH & I have had an incredible sex life until cancer. I keep trying but its just so painful.
The gyno cancer councellor gave me some sort of hormone pills to insert but they were aweful. I got such an unnatural overstimulation that was actually painful that lasted for days from just one pill (she wanted me to use it daily) not a chance. I am triple neg so they didnt think it would cause any issues.
Anyway I'll make an appointment and see if I can get it made. Thanks again for being so open!
Very embarasing & slightly off topic
For anyone that may be interested, one of the TV sex Dr's (Dr Ruth or Sue or something like that) wrote an article about one of the new must haves in the toy dept. So while in Vegas this fall I found it and picked it up. Since cancer Ive found that none of my vibrators or sex toys have done a thing for me... besides irritate me or make me sore from trying.
This one is definately different... its on the expensive side but its amazing. Not sure if im supposed to name products but will. The brand name is we-vibe its a small "personal massager" called Tango. Im beet red right now but think its important. It "worked its magic" in a matter of minutes. There were a few different shapes & such in the line, but this one is waterproof, rechargeable, ultra power & 8 vibe modes. It cost me 115.00 US. It should be easy to find online. Any quality nice store will have them on display so you can turn it on & feel the different vibes.
It worked for me but still didnt solve the any of the pain issues, which Im really hoping this cream does.
Wish me luck

Much much success with the scream cream and lidocaine. Although I feel a burning sensation when I use the lidocaine but only for about 5 minutes. Tonight we only used the scream cream and it was fantastic.
Monday I will already be calling for a refill. Unfortunately the amount they give you is not a large amount and they don't realize that we are making up for 2 years of no sex.
My dh loves it - it is not messy at all and I feel like a woman again.
I see my oncologist on Wed and he also wanted to know if this stuff works and when he sees the smile on my face - well he will have his answer. I will also pass on the information to my BC support group here locally.
-
suz45 - it does resolve the pain issue! I felt a little bit of pain when he totally inserted inside of me but it went away pretty quick. I looked for a solution for 2 years and I am so thankful for this thread as it has literally saved my marriage.
-
Good for you Jancie (&DH)
Lol, the scream cream smile.
But... this is the second time Ive heard the bottle of it is so small. How small is it cause Im just going to ask for an X-Large batch right away.
Congrats & Hugs Suz
-
Suz45 - I am guessing the amount is around 2 - 3 oz - good enough for 10 times - you might be able to spread it out longer if you don't use so much like I do.
I just called in a refill. I am seeing my oncologist on Wed and am going to ask him to approve triple the amount as this one didn't even last me a month.

Hi ho hi ho its off to the Dr's I go.. la la la la la la la la hi ho hi ho whh whh whh
Lol, Got an appointment with my GP, she was booked up for a few weeks but I said it was urgent so I got in for later today. I need to get my flu shot anyway
Ive printed off the ingredients and hopefully she will know of an compounding pharmacy close by. Wish me luck as Im not sure if anyone in Canada has tried to get this yet. I want the X large jar please
Hugs Suz
(it feels so good to be going to the Dr for something fun & positive)

So my order is in at the compounding pharmacy... it sure is getting a lot of attention. My Female GP (in her 50's) took a photo copy of it and asked me to let her know how if it works and the pharmacy asked a lot about it too & took a photocopy. Lol Im thinking a few batches will be made before the week is up. As long as they have all the ingredients mine will be ready tomorrow.
The flu shot was not so much fun.
-
Suz45 - LMAO! I brought printed copies of the formula to my breast cancer support group and passed it out.
Today I picked up my 2nd round of Scream Cream and Lidocaine. It just so happened when I went in the first time I had to talk to this sexy male pharmacist out of 5 people working there and who helps me out today? The same guy!
I asked him what it would cost without insurance as our insurance is changing Jan 1st and we have to pay for all meds out of pocket. He told me (if I remember correctly) $34 for the scream cream and $39 for the lidocaine. I told him no problem - my dh is very happy now and they might be getting more business as I am spreading the information around to all my friends in menopause, treated for cancer, etc. He just smiled.
$75 for about a month's worth is cheaper than a hooker! No, my dh would never even consider a hooker - I was just putting it in perspective!
Tomorrow I see my oncologist and I know he is going to ask if it is working or not. I can't wait to tell him!
-
Sorry for crashing this thread but I just have to say THANK YOU!! I cannot wait to call my doctor tomorrow and make an appointment! I love how open and honest you all are! xoxo, Angi
-
Lol Jancie,
I phoned the pharmacy today to find out when it would be ready. Heh heh, he knew exactly what I was asking about and after talking for a few minutes admitted he photo-copied it for his wife. They had to order in ingredients so it wont be ready till Monday (bet there making more than just mine) What was really great is the only compounding pharmacy in my area of town is right across the street from my DR's office. How handy is that!
Hugs Suz
-
Suz - my pharmacy had to order the ingredients also.
I saw my oncologist today and he asked me how it was working and I gave him a huge grin and said "I am a much happier person and so is my dh!"
I printed out 3 more copies and gave them to him to give to future patients. He asked me what pharmacy I used and I told him. No doubt he will be referring women to that particular pharmacy.
Oh crap....what did I start here in Salt Lake City of all places???
-
A Big WHOOO HOOOO Zoh! 4000 hits
-
WTG Jancie, Pass it on! Once Ive tried it I hope to get the message out here on the West Coast of Canada... even all across Canada. Will print it off & get the message out that there is help for us. Really we are all too young to have our sex life taken away along with the rest of our sexuality in some cases.
Cant wait till Monday
Hugs Suz

Hi eveyone,
Hurray for scream cream..no pain, and didn't even need Lidocaine. The compounding pharmacy took about a week, and the cost was appoximately $50. No coverage by insurance but my flexible spending account will reimburse it. Hope everyone gets good results, too.
-
Suz - it is MONDAY!!! You have to post your results - it is mandatory
-
GRRRRRRRR! The pharmacy just called and they havent ordered "one" of the ingredients as:
1 - There is none in BC.. actually the only place he could find it in all of Canada was Ontario
2 - Its friggin expensive!! To order 1 gram of the stuff is $100. So ttl cost of 1 jar of SC will be $150. (because of cost & being compounded they wanted to make sure I was ok with that)
3 - Our paliative care program isnt covering it. So my Dr will have to send in a special request to fair pharmacare, but still no guarantee that it will get covered. And that could take up to a month.
Geeze, whoodda thought that this would be such a big deal. The jar is only 30 grams but supposedly its 1 gram per use. So this is a one month supply.. ahahhahhahhahah, DH says "what am I supposed to make up for lost time?" LOL... yup
Anyway I gave them the go ahead to order it, and also put a rush on it. So hopefully will have it Wednesday. Sorry Gals
Now that said, Moe the pharmasist says that Walgreens has scream cream online... Not sure if its the same ingredients or even if its a precription. Lol, he just called again right now, its OTC and not prescription. Same name but not the same stuff, too bad as Im just a 20 minute drive from the Washington State border. So Wednesday it is....
Hugs Suz

It is good to see the various suggestions to help us out. If I ever am able to try sex again, it might work. Thank you all.
