yeah KiwiMum!  It feels great doesn't it?  I have been topless for a month  now and I love it, dont even think about it anymore I have just accepted this is who I am, and now out in public I dont get any stares and still have people at work make comments about me getting a short haircut but oh well they will get over it.  I dont wanna take the time to explain to all my customers why I have short hair.

ksmatthews, I know what you mean about not thinking about your hair any longer.  I saw my MO for a check-up this week.  When he asked me if I felt good having hair again, my first reaction was to wonder what he was talking about.

I am 5 weeks out from my last chemo and still have the peach fuzz that's been there since my hair fell out.   Hoping Santa brings me some hair for Christmas!  Smile  My son's teacher had her last chemo on Aug 24th,  and she has about 1/2 in on her head and it is thick and full looking!     I start taking Tamoxifen tomorrow morning,  I heard it causes hair to thin out.  I hope it doesn't affect my hair regrowth.  :)

peachy-pie, I hope that Santa brings you some hair, too.  If only it were that easy, but then we wouldn't have this wonderful forum.  I have been on Tamoxifen for just over a year, and I haven't noticed that it has affected my hair at all.

    Hi ladies,

Time for me to join in on the hair group.  Finished Chemo Aug 1,  Rads  Oct 1, and now my hair is almost a inch, not ot much gray so we will see when I color it.  I am use to being lighter, but for now I just spike it up and go.  I was never a good wig wearing they bothered me to much.

Good luck ladies, we are getting back to some kind of normal, what every that is anymore.  Ha ha.

    Lots of hugs to all

    Pam

Well ladies, I did it, I went topless to Universal Studios.  It felt really good and I really only noticed a couple of people giving me looks.  We had so much fun I almost forgot about BC for a few minutes here and there.  Even DH and I decided not to be so chicken and went on the Tower of Doom and The Hulk roller coaster, both are really high and DH has a horrible fear of heights but we had a blast.  It wasn't untill the end of the night while buying a t-shirt that the cashier (who has a buzz) told me how much she liked my hair, then pointed it out to her boss and asked it it was too extreme for work and started telling me what number clippers she uses on her hair.  I was gracious and said thank you twice but as she kept going and drawing more attention to me I finally said I didn't choose this style and walked away.  Hubby was annoyed I said anything at all but I was getting upset, I could clearly see the look on everyone's face that said they knew this wasn't a choice for me.  Oh well, I'm babbling and she didn't ruin the day at all, it felt wonderfull and we had such a good time, haven't laughed like that in a long, long time.

    Happy Monday

Bak94. I was so in your shoes. It seemed like everyone had hair but me at 5 weeks then 6 weeks. I was looking up permanent hair loss and sure I was the rare one who had it. But lo and behold about 6.5 weeks pfc, there it was. I take a picture every week as soon as hair started to show so I can see the change and that helps. Hang in there. It will come!

Hopping on this thread...5 wks pfc, very slight peach fuzz all over.  Hoping it is actual hair growth.  Taking Biotin and thinking about one of the 'growth' products, just not sure which one.  No facial hair yet, eyebrows and lashes still thinned out....All I want for Christmas is some hair!  Oh, to shave my legs again!

Well I had my first haircut. It killed me to see that hair laying in my lap but I think it looks better-crisper and more defined-if you can say that about hair that is only a 1/4 long. Mine seems to be laggi ng way behind most of you-probably the Herceptin.

She trimmed up my sideburns and around the temple and the necklinenand them clipped it alll around on the top. Everything looks mor eeven now and I dont have all those pointy Addams Family things on my forhead. She told me I need a little more growing in the front---did she think I don;t know that???

ksmatthews  I am 9mo out and have not had a trim.  People are amazed that it just seems to grow in a layered look all by itself.  Its just like Carrol"s but she has much longer bangs...mine seem to be slow.  the Tamoxifen doesnt seem to slow it down any, but I did stop the biotin for awhile and thought it slowed, so started taking it again.

    Everyone's pics look amazing.

Yippee, McCrimmon!  It would have been a challenge to go on those roller coasters with a wig or hat, I've been on both of them!  I love regular roller coasters but I am not a fan of those that go upside down.

I'm not planning on trimming off a single centimeter of my hair for a long time!  I'm always surprised by those of you who shave it once it starts growing in to get it even.  I think because hair is always growing, you always have some different lengths mixed in.

I went topless for the first time today. (finished chemo the end of July). It was to an appointment at the PS whose office is in the cancer center. I thought the cancer center would be a good place for the first time. I had a hat on outside, but it's cold out. Got some compliments, they seemed genuine.

Wow, it seems like it happened overnight.  My eyebrows and eyelashes are thicker than ever!  And my hair is growing well.  I can go out without a scarf or hat (unless it's cold) whenever I like now.

GREAAAAT!!!  I am loosing my eyelashes AGAIN!  I am 5 1/2 months PFC and all of my longer lashes are falling out all at once.  I do still have some tiny short lashes, so far it is not as bad as the first time.  The short lashes are way too short for mascara.  I am not noticing the brows falling out again, yet.  What did you experience?  Did you loose your lashes/brows a second time?  If you lost them both a second time was it at the same time?

Dang, FLwarrior....  I've read that others lose, re-grow, and lose lashes/brows again, often long after chemo ends.  I hope that they come back quickly!  I still have one more tx to go, but so far, my lashes and brows are mostly hanging on - they are definitely thinner, and I have a couple of blank spaces, but nobody but me notices.

I lost the lashes on my left eye and brows thinned on the right. They grew back in really well and then yesterday I noticed the lashes on the left are falling out again! I am 5 months PFC. I have heard this can happen a couple of times. Darn!!!!. Back to loads of black eyeliner!. Cool But I am getting my 1" of hair colored tomorrow! I am going to go to work topless next week for the first time. Gotta lose this wig.

FLwarrior I lost my eyelashes 5 weeks PFC. They are still not back fully but are looking a lot nicer these days. Getting much longer. I really think it takes about 12-18 months for things to get back to 100% normal. My eyebrows are still thinner too but getting better.

Yes, I also suffer from hair anxiety. I have a receding baldish area that does not seem to be filling in (2 months) PFC. I haven't had any regrowth of my eyelashes or eyebrows yet, but today, guess what? I am growing hair on my toes. On my toes?

I went topless tonight, but it wasn't too public a reveal. Went running in the dark and once I got warmed up my hat was saturated with rain and sweat.  So I took it off!  The cold rain felt gooood on my hot lil head.  Of course nobody could see me but still! Tongue out
