Handmade gifts for Christmas
I got paid on the 1st of December, and I'm already broke! I'm thinking I can make emroidered ornaments, chocolate chip cookies, or woven potholders for gifts. Do any of you amazing women have any ideas? I can scan Etsy.com and get some ideas too. As I haven't any little children it's not bad but it's definitely not a buying year for me---it's all good.

Homemade gifts are a wonderful idea. I love getting anything homemade.
Cookie mix. Layer the dry ingredients of your favorite cookie mix in a Mason Jar. Tie some nice ribbon or raffia around it. Attach a handwritten recipe card. Yiu coukd do the same thing with granola mix with some dried cranberries, nuts etc.
Candles: pick up some china cups and saucers at a thrift store. You can probably get them for a dollar. Get wax and wicks from a craft store. Melt the wax and pur into a teacup. Add the wick. You can also add a scent to the wax.
Cheers

I almost always do a little something homemade for my office staff. It started with cany jars, filled with holiday candy.
Two years ago I made fudge for the first time ever! I used the recipe on the jar of Kraft Marshmallow cream. I added nuts in some, and cherries in some. I got RAVE reviews.
Buy tins for 2 for $1 at the .99c / $1 store.
Last year I splurged and bought pre-made holiday things. This year, I'm going back to fudge. EASY PEASY!

Ditto on the Kraft fudge recipe. Last year I soaked the nuts in bourbon for a day before I made the fudge. I have also made chocolate chip cookies and packaged them in celophane bags and tied them up with curly ribbon. Everything is more festive with curly ribbon =;0)

If you like fancy nuts, there are a couple super-easy recipes in the CANCER FIGHTING KITCHEN (found in my library). There's one where you basically coat walnuts with a maple syrup and a hit of Cayenne pepper and then throw them in the oven for 20 mins. Yummy. There's a diff. recipe for almond (and cinnamon and something). I agree about doing nice packaging. Don't strain yourself. Make something easy and then dress it up with fancy presentation!
