found out what the problem was at hospital the other day...they have not been paid for any of my treatments thru insurance because insurance was trying to get info from all my medical records to prove that I did not have cancer when i signed up for the policy back in Feb...really?? Yes I left this beast in my body for 6 months because I have a death wish. IDIOTS...anyway supposed to be settled now. Still getting nowhere with the radiation thing and will most likely have to travel an hr 5days a wk for 6 wks....errrr...anyway at least it does get paid for. My situation could be so much worse--I keep telling myself that. today is feel like s**t day..just gonna stay in bed and do nothing!

Ugh Jersey:( That totally sucks that you had to go through that but I am glad you are doing better. I was in for 10 days for an infection and I think you are right, it does make you a little shell shocked; hard not to look at everything like a potential source of infection or illness. Somebody sneezes and it freaks me out. Yours sounds much worse than mine (especially not knowing what was causing it), so the impact of it is bound to stick with you for awhile. We will be healthy again soon though, count on it.
-
Jersey: How awful! I am glad you are better.
Maggie: At least you are finding out what's really been going on. Glad they will be paying for everything. It's about time!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Ex-husband is home from hospital and doing well. It's raining and miserable here. I need to get out and go to the store for light bulbs for my Christmas decorations, but am thinking I should just stay in. I am feeling a little down today. Time for my steriod crash to begin. I hate this part so much! Just saps me of any energy I might have.
My daughter and kids have settled back in pretty well at the house. They were gone most of the night last night and I got all the Christmas wrapping done for the babies. I get so excited just watching my grandkids open their presents on Christmas morning. I was so not looking forward to not being there this Christmas. I guess fate had a different idea! In many ways, I am glad. The oldest is a lot of help to me but those babies do get on my nerves sometimes. I guess they all do, especially since I don't feel good some days.
Hugs to all of us!
-
RJ - Nothing more pain in the ass and nothing sweeter than knowing your babies and grandbabies are sweet and safe in your home. Life just keeps throwing balls at us like one of them machinces and we have to be up at bat constantly. I hope the cuddly feel of one of the grandkids in your arms takes all you pain away and makes you know why you live. A child can make you sick, but a child can make you live, just to see another laugh and giggle on their face. You go girl.
EDIT: Had to go to Indian store for turmeric, called Haldi Powder.

Don't have a chance to read through everyone 's posts yet, but wanted to let you know my surgery went well and I am now at home. So grateful for all your support.
-
spent the day with my youngest son john, hadn't seen him in a couple wks. he had been pretty good about stopping in every couple days, he has been busy with school. he was so upset when he realized how long it had been since he had come by, kept apoligizing, i told him it was ok i understood.
anyway, we went to brunch and went to his house and visited. rode around the countryside looking at old barns and houses. came back to my house, had supper and visited some more. a pretty good day.
-
rjbaby - steroids make me irritated with everyone so don't be too hard on yourself if your grandchildren get on your nerves sometimes. I'm glad you are surrounded by love ones at this tough time, even if it does make things more complicated at times.
CJRT- glad to hear that all went well. Thank you for letting us know. Sending healing thoughts your way.
Kimberly - I like your analogy of the batting machine. I just wish someone would turn the darn thing off!
belleast - glad you got to have a good day with your son. Those kind of days are so wonderful!
Hugs to everyone!
-
CJRT, glad to hear surgery went well. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hugs!

-
Glad to know you are home CJRT! My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.
-
CJRT: So glad you are home and hope you are resting well. Take it easy!
Didn't make it to the office or bus today. Just feeling so achy and on top of all that, I have a sinus cold and just feel like crap. It's still rainy and cold here and I think I would be better off here at home in the warmth until I feel a little better. I plan to take another day tomorrow if I have to. I don't want to get sick right now. I'm almost done and I want to get finished!
Hope everyone has a good day.
HUGS!
-

cooka, oh great something to look forward to lol.
shelley, how is radiation going?
-
robo, (HUGS) i can relate , hope you feel better soon!
-
Belle, thanks for asking about rads. Had #5 yesterday. All is good, the routine is settling in. My appt is at 8:15am so I shower, get dressed, drive a mile, get undressed, get nuked, apply deodorant, apply moisturizer, get dressed, and go to work. 25 more to go, Jan. 11th is freedom day.
RoBo, I can so relate to the leg thing. My leg muscles 5.5 wks pfc still ache but it gets a teeny bit better each day. I do a lot of stretching which seems to help.
Hugs to all!

I know it's only December 6th, but I'm already feeling overwhelmed with getting ready for Christmas!! I'm excited and happy that all the kids and grand-kids will be home, but there is so much to do. I'm also terrified that I'll get sick with so many people around. I don't want anything to postpone the end of chemo. Anyone else have Christmas anxiety?
-
Thanks for the well wishes everyone! My PS said things looked good at my post-op appt. yesterday. So far, so good...hoping it continues. Have a busy week next week with PS, GS, and onc. appts., and possibly Herceptin, so I'm looking forward to relaxing this week.
Congrats on the last one being done soon, Robo! Hope you bounce back somewhat before then.
Kelli- I feel the same as you do about Christmas, even though I am on a chemo break. I am hoping to feel better from the surgery and not to catch anything since I will be returning to chemo shortly after Christmas. It's like I am happy and depressed at the same time when thinking about it.
Shelley- Glad you have gotten into a routine with RADs and hoping it isn't too bad.
Belle- Hope chemo today goes well and side effects are surprisingly mild.
RJ- Hope the rest did you well and you are feeling better.
Pinkshirt- Hope you're enjoying your break and that it is a mood boost for you and gives you posiitive energy when you go into the final portion of your treatment.
Jersey- That is completely terrible! So glad you are feeling better and can certainly understand why you'd have PTSD. Hopefully, as more days pass, that will become more of a distant memory and you'll be feeling more and more like your old self.
-
Hi Robo and Shelley, the leg thing is a real bummer (and I only did 4 rounds). I am glad you are getting better Shelley at 5.5 weeks, hope I will be on a similar timeline. Week 3 pfc and they almost feel worse than week 2. I am wondering if I should skip days in between yoga for recovery time. ugh.Congrats Robo that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Even though I am whining, the SE's for me seem more tolerable now that I don't have to get any more infusions...so when I bounce back I can stay bouncy:) although maybe not as "bouncy" as I used to be!
-
Cooka - Was it you that had the eye twitching? My eyes are watering and twitching as bad as ever. Hoping to hear that this went away or has reduced for someone else. Going to GP tomorrow to see if she can help with the leg edema. I actually think it's good news your chin sprouted a hair or two, lets you know the rest is on its way back. Think of it as the first robin in spring.
RJ - Hope a day or two in bed and under a comforter help you get some strength back.
-
Kimberly LOL @ the robin thing. I am still twitching and watering, Onc didn't seem concerned but I will assert myself a little more later in the week if it keeps up.
-
Kimberly- I had the eye twitching thing too and it went away around 4 weeks after my last chemo infusion. It hasn't come back with the Herceptin.
-
Hi Everyone
Had my Radiation Onc consultation today. Doctor was really pleasant. I have a question, he ordered a breast MRI before I start radiation which he says he does for all people who have a high grade cancer who are young. Has anyone else had an MRI ordered? My anxiety kicked into full gear when I heard they want to do more diagnostic testing and a little relieved as well as of course positive thinking means it will come back clear reassuring me again it is gone? Any thoughts?
Other than that it all seemed pretty normal I will be getting a total of 33 RAD appointments. An extra week and a half more than usual as this doc likes to make sure the initial site is well fried.
Gearing up for chemo #5 on Friday, not looking forward to another week of SE's.
Hope you are all doing well.
Sarah

Kelli, I am feeling Christmasy and put a new spin on one of my favorite carols:
Oh twitchy eye, oh twitchy eye
How lovely are your three lashes?
Beneath my head, so cold and bald
You fill with water for no reason at all
Oh twitchy eye, oh twitchy eye
How lovely are your three lashes?
I really should be writing a paper, that is why I procrastinate this way.
-
Cooka: I love the new spin!
Thanks all! I am feeling a little better. Drove the bus this morning and afternoon but other than that, I stayed put in the comforter the rest of the day. Hopefully, tomorrow will be my turning point. I'm so sick of being sick! Ugh!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
HUGS!
-
Cooka, you are quite lyrical. I did try to copycat and do the 12 days of christmas but it was harder than I thought it would be. Can you take mine and sand it and perk it up.
On the first day of christmas, the fates they gave to me:
Twleve months of paying.
Eleven months of living.
Ten toes a burning..
Nine hairs still growing.
Eight tear drops falling.
Seven mirrors bashing.
Six pimples sprouting.
Five get well cards.
Four rounds of chemo.
Three hot nodes,
Two missing breasts
And a diagnosis of stage 2B. -
Oops, I tried to copy Cooka with the 12 days of Christmas and it was a little too dark what I filled in.
