Skin discoloration after 1 1/2 years??

I'm really just wondering if I'm just a total freak *wink*!

When I saw my oncologist he was surprised that I still have so much skin discoloration after having rads so long ago.  He said it looked more like I was only 6 months out.

You can still see the outline of the custom bolster they used on me when they did the boosts.

I don't want to scare anyone that's just starting radiation it's probably just something that happened to me.

Anyway ... anybody else??

Not sure if this is relevant but when I saw a dermatologist this summer (for my annual skin cancer screening) she said that some patients do have long-term skin issues from rads. (she gave it some fancy name, let's call it radiation-related dermatitis). FWIW, she said in some patients it flares up after the fact (after things had calmed down for a while). Anyway, she made is sound like something that's worth treating. Maybe worth an appt to get an professional opinion?
