Aquaphor is the best.. you can practically eat it.. it has so few perfume ingredients.  it's very dense and really not any more expensive that the creamy other perfumed creams.

Michelle  Good luck with your radiation, it will go fast, but yes a pain in the butt going every day.   Maybe have your driver just drive around the block a few times instead of parking LOL  since it only takes a few minutes.

Aquaphor for me too, be careful though it will  stain your shirts, leave a greasy mark.

Saw the PS yesterday to make plans for nipple and tats, he doesnt like to do anything with the skin until 6 months out from radiation, so in March I will get some fat grafting done and nipple. My new foob shrunk a little after rads, so I am a little lopsided, not much but my shirts pull to that side and it bothers me. He will take the fat from my side hip area where there is  a little dog ear from surgery.

Oh for dinner...I dont have a clue...I cleaned out the fridge yesterday of all leftovers.

I was an aquaphor girl too, and it worked well for me too.  When I got very red, the RO nurse mixed me up a concoction of lidocaine and aquaphor which really helped any tender areas.

Carrie, Good luck with your appointment!  Did you have DIEP before rads too?  So far I am the only one I know who did.  I also was told to wait six months from rads before I could get a nipple.  I see the PS on Monday, not sure why, I guess she wants to see how the foob fared through rads.  As red as it was, it never peeled or blistered and the color is returning to normal.  I think it may have shrunk a little as well too.  But I think it was a little bigger than the other to start with, so maybe that is a good thing.

We are having vegetarian chilli tonight, just took it out of the freezer and need to heat it up.  Love that!  Was at the LE therapist just a short while ago and with the end of rads, my arm has lost a lot of the swelling, so very good news there.

Good luck with it. It will be here before you know it. I guess my next step will probably be in May. My PS also said at least six months after rads. I know so little about it. What is fat grafting? Is your PS going to take some fat from some place and make your foob bigger? I think it is wonderful that some PS will do so much additional work to get things perfect. I really don't want any more surgery other than getting a nipple though. I go on Monday to see my PS, am curious what she'll say and recommend. Meat loaf and mashed potatoes sounds good.

Same here, Aquafour, I didn't see any side effects until around the 15th treatment for a red head I thought I would burn and blister but all I received was what appeared to be is a sunburn.  I have had really bad sunburns as a teenager by putting baby oil on and lying in the sun for an hour.  I did get foliculitis which is just a slight irritation of the hair follicles.

Getting undressed and dressed took longer than the treatment. LOL 

Congrats on the port removals. I kept mine for 5 YEARS post chemo. Having blood drawn ,before I got it, was so difficult that I didn't want to give it up. I also wanted to wait until I felt "safe". Sometimes I really wish I still had it; especially with the surgeries I've had this year. Every IV has been a problem. It's such a problem finding a vein to start an IV that they actually used my port to put me out during the surgery where they took the port out and did some scar revision. Once I was out, they poked around until they found a vein and didn't have to listen to me bitch and moan.

Re nipple tattoos. I haven't had reconstruction, but my BS sends her patients to a tattoo artist. She's found that the results are much better. The hospital won't provide the PS with the variety of colored inks necessary to get the kind of result a tattoo artist can. They do these tattoos that appear 3 dimensional. I've seen some on line that are amazing. Not sure if insurance will cover it, but just thought I'd pass along the info.

I remember the Bain D' Soleil as well!! We also did the baby oil with a small bit of iodine mixed in! That and laying out in the sun for hours.... Yikes!



I still don't shun the sun but try to use some protection when I do... Long ago took a bit of advice from my great aunt (who had simply gorgeous skin) to always use a good daily moisturizer on your face and also use a good sun-block!



Time will tell if it works but, she was a very beautiful woman who looked far younger than her years!

Depends on how much speghitti you are using but for your family maybe use about 4- 6 slices, i have also made it without the bacon and its still yummy!

My DD had real nipples put on hers and they look so real, dont know how much more difficult this is but i think they took it from her buttocks.

I am all for the 3-D tatoos, just not sure how I feel about a tatoo artist seeing my fake boob.  My PS employs a tatoo artist that comes to the office...I think its a female.  But that is a long way down the road.

Kay, I am no too thrilled of having more surgery either because anesthesia makes me sooo sick, and I really dont mind the one boob being a bit smaller, but my shirts all shift to one side and I am constantly pulling them back to center....drives me crazy!  Does anyone's shirts do that?

Laurie Happy birthday to your son, your kids are so cute! Tell us about the tatoos...did it hurt to get them...and personal question, you dont have to answer , what does your husband think?  At 53 I feel like I shouldnt be too fussy, I think my modeling days are over ha ha!

Debbie  I am going to try the pasta, my girlfriend was telling me she made it last week and loved it, and so easy.  My husband thinks the only way to eat pasta is with sauce, so he will probably head to the pantry and get a jar and add it.

Just got back from my follow up onco appt. Bone Density is normal, blood work is stable. Nothing exciting. She did her usual breast exam by pushing down so hard I feel she is trying to feel my rib cage, LOL. She is thorough.

Carrie- If your DH likes a creamy white sauce then he may like this, it does look more creamy and like a white sauce.

Deb- Glad your test came back normal

My onc moved and it just so happens she is located in the same building that I had my rads in.  Haven't seen that building in over 4 years.  Boy did it change they are always reconstructing it.  It is in Winchester on Washington St.  Opened up 4 yrs ago, I was one of there first rads patient.  Sad though, my RO was dx with ALS and is in hospice right now.  He was such a nice doctor.
