Anyone from Sacramento or Northern Ca?
Just had my 3rd. Chemo today... I had to stop treatments for a couple of months due to an infection. Just wondering if there is anyone else in treatment in the area?

I live just north of Santa Rosa, but haven't had my lumpectomy yet, so don't know if I'll be doing chemo.

I am from the Peninsula. I have had my lumpectomy but not started radiiation yet. Luckily I do not have to do chemo because of the type of cancer I have (mucinous). I am dreading radiation and hormone therapy though.

I am not having radiation so don't know much about it. The chemo is hard but I think it is worth it. I still have one child at home. And MANY things to accomplish. I had a simple mastectomy with an expander. I got a infection just after the second round of chemo and had to have the expander removed. The PS said that when the chemo is done he will try it again. Only three more chemos to go and then Herceptin every three weeks for a year.

I live in the Sacramento area. Forgot to add that.

There is another thread called Anyone in Northern Califonia Here? that is quite active and several women are from the Sacramento area. Can we combine these threads? Caryn from San Jose

Sounds good to me. Do you know the thread?

I live in the East Bay and am going to UCSF for treatment. Would love to know of any good radiation oncologists in the East Bay.

Anyone in Northern California area here? Started in May of this year. I'm not sure how else to reference it or what needs to be done to consolidate . Moderators? Thanks, Caryn
-
The other Northern California thread, is in the Breast Reconstruction forum. It is still on the first page.
-
Thank you for finding that. Do the moderators have to be the ones to consolidate? Caryn
-
I don't know Caryn. I'm not up on how that works, consolidating that is.

I'm up in the hills, east of Auburn.

I'm in Sac. Have had two years of treatment here and am going to UCSF for liver resection in a couple weeks.
The other thread is pretty active. Lots of us NorCal gals. -
Just pm'ed the moderators about possible thread consolidation. We should all be together! Caryn

I am in the bay area..Fremont to be exact!

Here's a message from the moderators about how there can be just one Northern CA thread. Of course, this is only if stheresa987 wants to
Hi exbrnxgrl:
I was just looking at the two threads. There's no way for us to actually merge them, but since the "Help me get through treatment" thread is so much newer, if that thread's founder wants to change her opening post to point people toward the thread in "Reconstruction" (its link is http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topic/769449 ) we can lock the thread in "Help me..." so it won't get any more post, and say that it's being locked at the original poster's request.
Would that help?

If the thread was in reconstruction, someone like me will be unlikely to see it. I had a small lumpectomy - no reconstruction. People can gather in whichever thread they like, but if people stop posting to this thread, it will drop down the page along with the link to the other thread.
I'm in Sacramento and completed treatment with Kaiser.

I just finished my 6th and last round of chemo.
Followed by a respitory infection and the flu. Always have a way of taking things to the max.
I did not change the link as I would not have found the other one in reconstruction had I not been told it was there.
I will have to talk to the PS about putting the tissue expander back in ( I had it removed due to an infection).
I will have a CT scan in a week or two and am a little nervous...I guess that is to be expected.

I had a lumpectomy at UCDavis, and it went perfectly, but I found their communications just plain scary. So I start chemo at Sutter in about ten days.
