My family sucks
Well, one family member in particular. How can people be so mean and hurtful and selfish? No one understand this quite like us ladies. Apparenly I committed a crime by sleeping a lot today instead of doing fun family stuff. I am lazy and useless. Well, maybe if you visited every once in a while you would understand that I have cancer, I just finished rads, I am up a half-dozen times a night taking care of my dad, I am also working, DUH, I sleep a LOT. Thanks for causing a family feud during my dad's last Thanksgiving. Nice. Asshole.

People who have not BTDT just do not understand.

We understand. I feel lucky that my family/work/friends are being fantastic through all this. Don't let one ignorant family member get you down. Sleep when you can and know that your sisters out here in BC land have your back.

Let it go. Take care of yourself, take care of your dad. That doesn't even sound like a case of not understanding - some people are just a$$holes. Don't waste your time or energy stressing about what they think or say.
((hugs))

That person would be a jerk if everything was normal, if you won the lottery, if you did everything better than Martha Stewart would have even dreamed of. Some people suck and they continue to suck regardless. That was the hardest lesson for me... Just because our lives are turned upside down doesn't mean the challenging people in our lives are going to adapt. Hope you have a relaxing weekend. I'm like you, I am struggling to get back into the groove at work and it had better kick in soon or I'm in trouble!

I'm with Marjie. My sister and I haven't spoken since 1 week after my BMX when I told her to leave, now (She was screaming at me. She was supposed to be there to help out not get into arguments with me). That was over a year ago. Sad because I haven't seen my niece or nephew in 2 years. I communicate with them through skype and facebook. You do not want this. Trust me. Let it go. Yes some people are assholes and those people are sometimes related to you.

{ { { } } } f*ck him! You are doing everything right. And you can tell him I said so!

Thank you everybody. I know I am not perfect, but come on, really? Deep breath before I go downstairs and spend the rest of the day with my family members who are NOT being douchebags.

bluecowgirl...i just finished rads too 3 weeks ago...am still really tired - you on the other hand are taking care of your dad as well....so you just sleeeeepppppp girl. your body needs it. can't choose your family...we can only hope he will evolve.

Blue - I slept 12 to 14 hour days during the last part of rads and then the following month after rads. You are doing so much more than I could do. I wasn't working either.
People don't understand how much this treatment takes a toil on our bodies. It is 2 years later and I am starting to feel better but it took all of that time for my body to recuperate.
If you want to sleep - dangit go to sleep and don't worry about what these selfish family members have to say. Makes you want them to get cancer so they will understand how it really feels!
