Hello Everybody and I do mean All of You !  So glad to hear about your successes.

Just catching up this a.m. I have two sheet sets for each bed. I have one set on and the other set is folded between the mattress and the box springs. Took me a while to figure out the best way to fold them, (the flat sheet is folded in quarters and then half, the pillowcases folded in half, go on each side at the top), but saves a ton of storage space in the closet. Also, this way had a spare for those nights when girls were little and needed a spare set in the night after being sick. I read about storing your sheets between your mattress and box springs somewhere and now a few of my friends do it too. Many times I do just take off the sheets, wash them, and then put them right back on. Still nice to have a spare.

Sounds like all you ladies have been very busy fall cleaning!  In the meantime I've done nothing!  Waiting for the new cleaning lady to come on Monday.  I have to leave something for her to do...right?  I used to clean before they came...no more.

I'm headed out shortly to go have my biopsy.  Glad to get it over with.

Getting blouses to look ironed after being ironed? I think sprinkling the blouses will help or using more steam. Sprinkling is what I have always done with linen and it was the only way. Now I usually don't iron linen at all.

Beginning to sort the sewing room. It still has tons of boxes from our move here. It does always malke me feel good to be up there though becuase I love the things in there.

    Love GInger

Thanks Ginger, I'll try more sprinkling for the shirts. It's frustrating to spend the time to iron and then when finished they don't look much better than when you've started.

Mowed grass and watched DGS's today.... I tried to trick then into taking a nap by having rest time. Neither of them rested much let alone nap. Didn't get any shorting or cleaning done!

Thanks for the support and hugs ladies....I'm trying to stay busy and not project the outcome of the biopsy.  Working on my hair today which is in tough shape from too many chemicals.  DD and I went shopping and bought wigs the other day.  Friends look at me funny because they know I have never had that much hair since they've known me, but are afraid to ask if it's a wig.  I'll have some fun with them before I tell them the truth:)

My DD is halping me with somemore of sewing room organizing and unpacking! I am so happy it helps a lot!    I was so sick when the room was packed up last year that I have no idea what is in some boxes. I had a lot of great sewing tools so I will be happy to see themn again.  I havwe had a few surprises already where someting was packed solo in a box with a mountain of bubble warap and it was a trash can! lol

The smartest thing we ever did was bring in a professional to have a "Living Estate Sale" when we sold our second home last summer.

I'd inherited tons of my mom's stuff, and when my husband and I married later in life, we had duplicates - if not triplicates - of everything! We kept his house because it was paid off, but dang - it became just another place to store stuff.

So we took a FEW of the things we wanted to keep, then took truckloads of stuff from our current home up there. Seriously, truckloads.

They came in for two weeks ahead of time.....put all our stuff out, grouped "like with like", and advertised well in advance.

They held the sale for three days, and even in the snow and the rain, they made a bundle for us!

The absolute best part was the fact that AFTER the sale, they called the charity trucks, inventoried everything that was left over, and off it went to local charities. THEN they swept up all the aftermath! I think their cut was just 30% (maybe 40%?) of the proceeds. Totally worth it!

Greetings to all my organizing and decluttering buddies!  I have not been very active for the past 6 weeks - had BMX on Oct. 3 with multiple complications in succession, so things have piled up again.  And by "things" I mostly mean paper.  Who invented that stuff, anyway????  And over 1000 emails on my desktop, which is why my computer is so slow according to DH who is a bit of a computer nerd.  But you all seem to be making such great progress here and there, and you are an inspiration, so I will get back on the wagon soon and start getting rid of stuff.

I may need some help when it comes to doing my wardrobe (again)....

    Sleep well tonight all....  :)zzzzz

Yes, whatever happened to the "Paperless Society?"   Paper has always been my issue with clutter. My DH makes various piles and apparently does not subscribe to the touch an item once theory of paper management.  I asked him to take over the bill paying when I got sick last year and he has obliged. Now I need to be able to ignore the multiple stacks of mail, catalogues and magazines.

I'm starting on shredding the receipts for 3 yrs ago... stuff that I probably didn't need to keep, water bills, electric and such. Now I've got the accumulation and need to get rid of it. Oh, yeah, I'm still keeping the ones for this year. Hard to break a habit!

I must have signed up for something or donated to a cause because I'm getting all kinds of letters from organizations. At least 5 of them have been address stickers... I don't write that many letters so ended up shredding them too. Wonder how I can get my name off the lists ~ although it does help the people employed at the USPS.

The neighbors will have their Christmas decorations up by the end of next week... I on the other hand I will probably get something done by the 17. Embarassed

samsue, I also have thousands of address labels and need to stop keeping them.. Used to use them inside of my books in case they were loaned out but now with my Kindle don't need them.

Hopefully will get rid of more stuff tomorrow as I continue to clean before company arrives Tuesday.

I have been doing lots of "cleaning out" and downsizing getting ready to move.  I am making good progress.  I had a sucessful yard sale and then donated the left overs.  I still have a few things for sale on craigslist.  I imagine that once I get moved I will make a trip or two to the "Good-Will" drop off.  I have even gone through the paper stuff and done quite a bit of shredding.  It feels good to de-clutter.

I seem to have lost interest in keeping the house neat, which is so unlike me.  I'm usually right on top of things, but since the dx, I've slacked off.  I haven't even finished my shopping for Thanksgiving which I usually have done by this time, and no Xmas shopping at all.  My son came over to take the decorations out of the attic for me and I said I wasn't ready.  Boy, was he surprised, because I'm usually getting everything ready around Thanksgiving, like putting up the tree and lights.  Hope I snap out of this soon, or I will be scrambling!  Maybe after Dr. app't tomorrow when I have more answers to this puzzle.

    Sleep well everyone!

im doing the same as you "Teka. taking one holiday at a time... im hoping that the 2nd Jay will help us get down the xmas stuff together on thanksgiving.. he's in a 1/2 way house so i don't know yet how long hell be here short hours long hours, or days... as long as hhe's here im happy more thasn you know.. the other 2 jays will not even be here so no help there...

we're going to mess the liv rm AGAIN  i need to get it all out, together sort and sift.. at least 1/2 has to go.. saving the best; donating the rest.. it will be a BIG job, but the most imp.. even going for a smaller tree. Just don't have the space, nor interest to do nearly what we've done in the past.. Im actually looking forward to what im getting RID of, for Christmas, than whhat im giving, or getting...

Kaara: the problem i now find myself in, is a direct result of the dx/tx of bc... don't push yourself.. this is NOT a "normal" year dont treat it as such.. give yourself permission to pull back, without giving in..there's next year and the crapoola will be much easier to deal with, and gauge where you want to go then....just MHO....3jays

I have a friend coming to visit this week, and she is the kind of person who really wants to do something to help me, so I am going to have her help clean out my refrigerator so we can figure out what we need to shop for on Wednesday so we can play cooking in the kitchen on Thursday.  I am so excited, I love to cook but haven't done much of it for the past couple of months (well, year plus, actually....).  Maybe she will help me with my wardrobe, too....and maybe a little Christmas decorating..... Wink

Got lots done over the last 3 days.  Can actually see the end of the tunnel.  Dropped of lots more stuff to Goodwill yesterday.  My den actually has room now.   I can see the top of my dresser and headboard.   Dining room table is empty.  Lots of progress.  YAY!
