Hi Girls - had the most fantastic luck today. I loved the new work pants I bought last week so much, I went in search of other colours - well, I went to 3 different shopping centres (1st 2 didn't have my size) and the last one had my size in 3 colours AND they were only $15 - on special - I paid 40 last week for the same pants!!! So now I have green, brown, blue and black - SO happy about it. I only shop at a really cheap chain store here called Millers - they usually have lots of granny stuff, but you can often find good work wear and they never wear out. You can also often find quite nice things that aren't for little old ladies.

I'm safe now it's Saturday here - I just had to resist writing there again but I might :)

    Happy Susie

I have worn out my Like button - neigh, nay, neigh....almost as much fun as reading that crazy thread.  Expect the culprit will be found out, donchathink?  I mean if we all know, don't the Moderators even suspect what might be happening.....

Getting ready for a day of leaf raking, and finally putting my little garden to sleep for the winter - everyone is "off schedule" around here cuz of having 3 feet of snow in October.  But, winter is coming, there's an ole sickle pear tree near my cabin, the pears never get soft, until they've been on the ground for a while.  The crows love them when they're soft, and the deer come in from the woods to munch.  Know there's a bear around, but I stopped putting out bird seed after it demolished my bird feeders, and haven't seen her ( she had 2 cubs last year) around since then.

Wow, Sunflowers, you do live in the country. Bren, you have any bears? Sending gentle hugs for you and your family.

Well, today is another day of looking at houses. My friend since 1978 is here looking for a house. His stuff is in storage and he is staying with us. I love him but you knows guests are like fish.....

Well the mods deleted the mess..I only have an agenda when I plan a meeting at work. Most adult women have outgrown their love for ponies and princesses.

Now am I in trouble with the horsewomen here?

k2k - I haven't trademarked "enjoyable" yet, but keep an eye out 'cause you never know with our crazy cancer scooter gang.

Susie - Don't you love it when you find the perfect article of clothing?  I've done that, too - run out and bought four more in the same color.  It doesn't make me very fashion-forward, but then clothes are just clothes to me.

Here's my take on the whole interesting/fascinating/neigh/nay round of deletions:  Remember when sparkleprincesspony (sorry, I've forgotten her name, but you know who I mean) came on this thread and made references to the dowdiness of our apparel?  That comment was allowed to stay because the moderators said she didn't actually call US dowdy, so it wasn't a rule violation.  It sort of ran right up to the edge of deletehood and then stopped an inch short.  Of course, we all knew it was meant to be an insult, right?  Perhaps the moderators are now taking that sort of thing more seriously, so that while "fascinating" and "interesting" might not break the rules per se, the perceived intent behind them did.  That's a tricky one, though, because who knows what anyone's intent truly is?  But, since you guys are part of our evil daisy-painting scooter-riding gang of goofy girls, the intent could only be an insulting one, right?

It's tough being part of this scooter gang.  :-P

Putting sequins ( purple) on my multicolored scooter - just in case we get "judged" again.  It really is nice when It's peaceful here.  LOVE THE JOKES.

Rosemary - tee, hee...I think all the horsewomen here agree with you.

BD - I vote Purrfection for your Posts. ( for all the feline loves, I, being allergic to cats, just watch from afar)

Barbara - yup, very rural.  EVERYBODY, and that includes dogs, wear ORANGE at certain times of the year.  I can never remember what the hunting season is - but I still wear ORANGE a lot!

Question.  Eating healthy is a good thing BUT, if I have to worry about everything I eat, what kind of QOL is that?  Some of the things I've read like eating nothing but greens and stuff and horking down 20 supplements would be torture for me, but then again, been there, done that.  How about you?

TTYL, busy day so we're off to the races!

    Good morning friends!

It's freakin' cold this a.m.  Only about 30 degrees out with a high forecast for low 50's.  My feet are cold!  At least I won't have to get the leaves up today.  Spent about 3 hours yesterday on that project .. and the big oak continues to rain leaves.

Barbara ... we do have bears here.  I haven't seen them in my fields, but I have seen their pawprints and poop.  I have a lot of deer too.  The bears like to use my little pine trees as backscratchers!

I understand what you mean about company.  My mom will be with me Sunday-Thursday this week.  That's enough time for me.  I crave my solitude when I get over-run with humans.  Sure hope your friend can find a house today.  Then there's just a 30-day escrow and you'll be free!

Enjoyful ... You are making me smile this morning!

Blue .. Most of the time, I don't give a rats ass what I'm eating.  I only have to worry about food when Tim comes home.  It seems he likes to eat dinner .. and he likes it cooked.  Very strange.  I could live on protein bars and diet Pepsi and be happy.

I better get busy.  I have a lot to do before I pick Tim up in an hour.

    hugs to all,

    Bren

Bren, so glad Mr Tim is back! Is he back for the rest of the week? That will be nice. My friend has cash so he can close in three days, Blue, I try to eat healthy and I take around 10 supplements (which are working for me as I have huge hot flashes and they had stopped 5 years before BC). E, you crack me up.

Not rubbing it in but the high today is going to be 85. Last night slept with the windows open and the low was 60. Aaahhh. Love FL in winter.

Ponies, sparkles and fantasies to all of you today (as in "top o th' morning")!! Fantastic, fabulous and superlative to be here and post! I will take unicorn wings over scooters any day because I can fly over a rainbow.

(Clearing throat). Sunflowers, I love the country. Nice to be surrounded by the wild, although three inches of snow at ths time is a bit much. I did always find the winters in Boston too long. By April I was getting cabin fever. I think it's about 50 here, with plenty of sun. Perfect.

You folks are too funny. E - I think you hit on it.

We have very few ducks on our lake but lots and lots of geese and a fence to keep them and their poop out of our yard. We also have lots of deer.

I just came back from a long walk along the lakefront and discovered 3 pairs of swans (and a lonsesome one) fishing in the cove.  Kinda worried about the lone swan and wondering if his/her partner -- well, you can't tell sex with white swans! -- had a gruesome end.

Beautiful warm, windy, sunny fall day here in Niagara.  We're SO not ready for winter!

I accept Rosemary's innocenceWink Always.  E's analysis is also great, funny too.

Not many geese around here - lots of Wild Turkeys ( not in the bottle kind) and they are SO cute in the Spring, when they have their little ones, and they remind me of that children's story - the Mother Turkey leads literally a line of wee little ones.  Sometimes groups of them gather - I've seen up to 30 or more munching in the fields.  Sometimes one of them is kind enough to leave me a HUGE wing feather - they really are large.

Morning Girls!!! We have now had 20 days without rain - a record for November. Good news is that we have some expected this coming Wednesday. Had to water the garden yesterday - will finish it off today. I actually found some energy yesterday and was busy washing, watering and shopping. Funny I felt really good after my pants purchase - I do love a bargain. I even had 2 swims in the pool!!! It was 29 celcius yesterday  - sorry to rub that one in.

Poppy has abandoned us at night and her new spot is on the couch in the family room right where DH sits. She was there yesterday and he had to sit next to her to watch the Presidents Cup. I was surprised he didn't kick her off. She's there now waiting for me to go upstairs to the kitchen - little sweetie - she follows the food person around.

E - I did get different colours, not all the same. Now I need some new shirts but they haven't got any nice work ones at the moment. I could go and pay 70 or 80 bucks but why should I. I much prefer 25 or 30 which is why I shop there - the prices are good and I do get some really nice things. I've got plenty in the wardrobe anyway.

I just took a chicken I roasted out of the oven. The potatoes, onions, and a stray aweet potato I found are still roasting. DH brought homw fresh asparagus today so I will cook that too.

I sewed most of the day. I made 3 monster pillows out of fleece for my grandsons for Christmas. I have one more to do but I am out of energy. Maybe after dinner.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. There is a Marketplace at our church all morning and I have to set up the coffee and donuts and then sell Fair Trade stuff. I have good helpers but I will be exhausted when I get home and I did want to get the monsters done this weekend. I will make dolls for 3 girls, a blanket for the baby and I am still not sure what to make for the six year old girl. Maybe a pink monster, I am out of ideas. I found doll parts at a resale shop and only have enough for the 3 one year olds so she won't get one of those. Maybe a different kind of doll.

Susie, glad you are happy about the pants. Nothing like a good shopping trip to lift one's spirits. I spent the world's laziest day today, talking on the phone with my mother regarding family Christmas plans, sleeping and watching wildlife documentaries. I feel so lazy.

Lindasa, hope the swan finds its mate soon....

    She's planning her menu???

    Good to see you otter.

Linda ... do you suppose your single Swan was the offspring of one of the pairs?  I know goslings look full grown by the end of the season but don't know anything about swans.

Do we have any serious shoppers here?  I read that some woman in FL is already camped out in front of a store waiting for the Black Friday sales. Surprised   My mother and sisters are marathon shoppers but I did not inherit that gene.  I run away screaming when they suggest shopping trips.  Online shopping is my friend.  Except for antique stores and flea markets ... those I like.  So after all that ramble ... who is brave enough to hit the stores next Friday?

    edited spelling error ... sigh

I haven't done much today - swept the kitchen and that was it. Been watching the President's Cup with DH and I fell asleep and it's not even lunch time yet. It is Sunday, so I figure I can rest. Don't want to make lunch and told DH he has to have left overs from the other night. Tonight we are having beer battered fish and chips and salad. I should get the washing in I guess....

I will not be doing any Black Friday shopping. I would rather pay a little more money for something and avoid it.

My daughter works in retail-she has to be at work at 3 AM on Black Friday morning. Bleh. We are having Thanksgiving dinner at 3:00 so she can get some sleep before work.

Hi susieq ... we were typing at the same time.

My sympathy to your daughter Mary ... my brother worked retail in his younger days and learned to hate the holiday shopping season with a passion.
