Good morning ... and a nice quiet one I hope.

I will be forever grateful to the women on this board who calmed me down and gave me real information when I first came here.  I think encountering fear mongering back then would have totally pushed me over the edge.  So sometimes it is hard for me to keep my big mouth shut. 

I'm going to prove my lack of cultural awareness here.  What is Project Accessory?  TV show?  Just to prove I'm not totally culturally lacking I did rush out to see the Puss in Boots movie.

WR -- I couldn't agree more!  I was so scared of doing chemo (and for me it was a choice, but with the odds a little in my favour according to available stats).  When we are fearful, we usually look for articles, websites etc. that might tell us "don't do it, it'll kill you" and then grab onto that info as justification for our decision.  Sort of like politics, in a way......

BCO was not on the list of recommended info sites given to me by my onc team almost 4 years ago.  I daresay it still is not.   I didn't find this site until I had completed chemo, but found a great deal of comfort in discovering that other posters were also experiencing some of the SEs that frequently appear after tx.  Then, as I moved onto Femara, it was great to "talk" to others about my symptoms.  Those were the good old days, and with a bit of sophistication in choosing which health-related sites provide legitimate info and which ones to stay far, far away from, I'm still comfortable with the choices I made.

Fear influences, and too frequently overrides logical, rational thinking.  With a few exceptional members (and we know who they are, bless them for sticking around!) posters here do not have the training, nor the understanding, to determine which research "studies" are legitimate, peer-reviewed and widely accepted, and which ones are not.  One can say "I've researched this til I'm blue in the face", but without a fairly high level of education and training in the ways of research, all that work (mostly derived from the internet) is worthless.

Now, this is just my opinion, but thanks for listening!

I would like to share with you an experience that I recently had regarding drinking and driving.

As you would know, most of us have had brushes with the law on our way home at one time or another.

Well I for one have done something about it.

The other night I was out for dinner and a few drinks with some friends.

Having had a few too many martinis and knowing full well I was struggling,

I did something I've never done before. I took a bus home.
