DIEP in Detroit or Ann Arbor
I am still looking for experienced surgeons that perform the DIEP. I have had one consult in Grand Rapids, but can't seem to get a number of DIEP's from the office. She seemed confident, but I was wondering if anyone out there could throw me a name. Desperate in Michigan.
Someone sent me a list of surgeons, but Michigan didn't have any on it. I thought maybe it wasn't an updated list. Thanks!!!!

This is a list of surgeons doing microvascular breast reconstructions from Kathy Steligo's web site -- author of "The breast reconstruction Guidebook." You will need to check the surgeons out and investigate further to decide if someone on the list for you. This is just a list - it is NOT an endorsement or recommendation of the surgeons on the list. Consider getting a copy of the latest edition of the book - I thought it was very helpful.
Alberto Aviles is listed for Novi, Rebecca Studinger is listed for Novi and Troy

Cherrie,
Dr. Rebecca Studinger trained with Dr. Allen, the NOLA diep pioneer and she is doing DIEP, SIEP and GAP flap reconstructions near Detroit. She also does lymph node transplant, which makes me think she would be thinking about the lymphedema risks of breast surgery and help with proper precautions. Here's a link to her website: http://www.stjohndoctors.org/studingerplasticsurgery/
There's a PS at U of M that does dieps, although from someone else who did some research, I think he has done just 100 or so of these surgeries. Here's his link: http://www.uofmhealth.org/find+a+physician/2686
Good luck--try just googling diep+michigan. That's how I found the link to Dr. Studinger. Like besa, of course, I have no clue about quality of these PSs, but getting names is a start.

Cherrie,
You may try to call my PS in West Bloomfield. His name is Daniel Sherbert at West Maple Plastic Surgery. He works out of Beaumont Hosp. He's awsome.

Hello Michigan ladies, just wondered what your experience has been since these last posts. I am in Michigan and met with Studinger and Momoh. I'm also considering PRMA in San Antonio and CNBR in Charleston.
