So many pockets, so little time!

Actually, that's not true... hugs and best wishes to all!!
-
thanks for all your support today, it really helped, thankfully its a centre where they give you the results before you leave, unfortunatley there's new calcifications , not sure if there from the surgery ,radiation or something new, radiologist reccomending biopsy or mri, my vote was mri first but bs will decide
-
I know I'm late but I'm jumping in Juliet and Lory's pockets today. Sorry I missed the party Barbe but hope it went well.
Lory: eating while you can is a really good idea and I would also like to mention that I find munching on a cup of cheerios and/or cinnamon toast crunch (cinnamon is one fo the few things I can still taste) throughout the day helps to keep some of the nausea down.

I am home from my first chemo treatment. Arrived at 8 am, blood draw, Onc visit, then hooked up to start therapy. Pre chemo meds, then the chemo. I also had a visit with the wound nurse. My SNB incision opened up a bit during the night after the end nots from the sutures were cut yesterday. I have been sweating horribly from the steroids, and a few of the seristrips came lose which led to it opeing a bit,(blood and fluid) So now am re-steristripped along with antibiotics for the possibilty of infection per Onc. Also popped into see my surgeon so he could have a look. I have a follow up with him to recheck it next week.
Nuelasta shot tomorrow afternoon..I read somewhere that some ladies are using claritan for the bone pain?? but now I cannot seem to locate them again..humm
It's now almost 5 and I am pooped! So far..SE are controlled.. just this horrible thirst.. so I am a drinking my water..also I am going to juice a few oranges for a treat!!
-
Lory... trying searching for "claritin", you'll find a bunch of posts with that spelling... hugs to you!
-
Well, Lory48, you did it, you took the chemo plunge and did as well as any other bloody, thirsty and tired diva could do. The hardest part of starting chemo right now might be just laying low and not trying to do to much over the holidays. Don't push it. Rest and relax as much as you want to.
-
Glad you got the first one under your belt Lory. I swear by the claritin helping with the neulasta. I finished chemo the end of July and took Claritin from the day before chemo to several days after. Be good to yourself and take it easy.
-
lory, it's so much easier after the first one is behind you. congrats! definitely take claritin an hour before your shot tomorrow and keep taking it for several days. sometimes i took it for five more days, but i don't know if that was overdoing it or not. at any rate, i never had any problems whatsoever with the neulasta. i think the claritin works great!
-
Lory,
Keep those fluids moving. I don't know for certain what drugs they are giving you for the side effects, but the drugs I took caused horrible constipation...pardon the image, but I'm sure you've heard the expression "$hitting bricks?" Yeah, it's like that. Also, I developed cyctitis (irritated bladder) on my last infusion b/c I didn't drink enough. Sports drinks work well, too.

Hi girls so sorry I have been busy the last few days and finally have a break. I have my love here with me for a few weeks!!!! She did ditch me tonite but thats cool. I have plenty of time with her.
Barb I hope all went well for you.
I didnt have any problems with the neulasta just some mild aches but I just dealt with it. I did get the same tips as YAYA and others have said it works well for them. Good luck.
martha I had the same issues only I think its more like a dang brick house, lol. Omg I didnt have my glasses on one night and thought I was taking the stool softners so I did the max. Well lets just say that I was one cleaned out chick by the afternoon. It was laxatives instead. OMG there were afew times I almost didnt make it.
Have a great night all!
-
I am so glad to hear some of you have had good news!
I feel for those of you with bad news.
Good luck with your chemo, Lory.
I had my tests today (my pockets were wiggling from all of you at the party). A bit of cancer in the rtb (which I figured on) & a suspicious area in the lb. Looking at a BLMX, not shceduled yet but soon. Further tx will depend on how that goes. At least my hubby & I have a little time to say goodbye to the girls--those nasty rotten girls--good riddence.
-
noodle6, Wish it had been better news for you today. Those girls were ungrateful troublemakers all right, after all you did to help them thru' this the first time! Good thing you seem to have a no-nonsense approach, first things first, and I hope you move forward to NED. Where is the suspicious area? Do you mean liver?
-
@ lory - Smartwater!
I didn't have chemo but it is a great way to rehydrate without adding extra calories, sugars, artificial sweeteners, etc., depending on your drink of choice.
To all others awaiting results - may you have peace and patience and strength to deal with good news or not so good...
-
noodle - I did try and behave at the pocket party but you know how we are. Sorry your news could not have been better but at this point you gotta do what you gotta do to stay NED.
-
elimar, suspicious in left breast clear in the rest of my body (the good news). It appears that all the bad is in the boobs
-
Lory, Pheww, got the hardest one done. Now you are almost a pro. I took the clairitin too, it seemed to help. Noodle, I am sorry to hear your results aren't what you hoped. Have yourself a nice little going away party for those trouble makers!
Won't be on tomorrow morning so I want to make sure everyone is in place for tomorrow's pp for Darlam. You'll get some nice happy sleep drugs tomorrow, so enjoy your rest! We'll try not to wake you up, so shhhhhh!!! No karaoke tomorrow, sorry girls. But I am definitely bringing the hugs and kisses. . . .
-
noodle6, Oh, O.K. Well, you got a Pet/CT, right? So, clear in all other regions is good news then!
-
And just so you don't wake up alone. Here's to living on a prayer.
Hope you don't get any bad medicine!! Only beds of roses. . . . .
-
bringing thorntons dessert chocolates the raspberry torte is mine! janis sorry you can't have real food today in the pocket but i'm sure we can arrange a portapotty for you! (((((hugs)))))))))
-
I'm gonna hang out on Dr.bBon Jovi's shoulder and watch over him and make sure he does a good job, My leftover Halloween candy is gone except for some Nerds which nobody over age 10 likes, so I am going to bring some adult beverages. I think frozen margaritas sound good. It's five o'clock somewhere! Good luck darlam.
See a cardiologist tomorrow morning. She is a specialist on cardio toxicity of cancer treatments, so she should know what to do for me. As my nephew says if she says it confidently I'll believe her any way. I am so jealous all my docs (except RO) are women in their 30's or early 40's. Claire, what hospital do I have to go to for all these gorgeous docs? -
Sorry I didn't post. I went back to bed at 10:30 am on Monday and slept most of yesterday too! It's an avoidance technique I use. Anyway, the ultrasound was very early on Monday, at 8 am. I don't think the radiologist was even in! The tech took a lot of pictures, but didn't say to hang on, she wanted the radiologist to check them before she let me go. So no biopsy, either! What a waste of time!!! I could tell you they've grown! I can feel them and at times they're even visible depending on how I turn my neck.
So, pooh! Nothing moved forward at all. Now I wait for my doc to get the report and send me to an ENT....sigh.
-
OOhh, meant to say thanks Elimar, that quilt is a modern Baltimore album. I could do that with my eyes closed....just sayin'...!
-
barbe hope you get an appt soon
-
Hey Claire, how about marky-mark???
-
Barbe, I could sleep under that quilt with my eyes closed, that's about it.

Annoyance of the day. When I first got my Dx, I went crazy reading every article or study I could find on the internet, all 9 billion of them. I bookmarked the most relevant ones for myself. Well, about a year ago, I fried my hard drive and lost them.
So, now, if I post information straight from my chock-full brain, you just know someone will want me to site the source. Unless I want to look like a crackpot, I have to spend more time Googling for back-up. Woe is me. Such is my plight helping Newbies.
-
Hi to All,
I've been so out of the loop lately that I'm finding it hard to keep up. Barbe hope you can get things cleared up soon. Lory glad you made it through, keep up the fluids for sure! Noodle you are really in a good mind about this. Wish I could get there.
I've been very depressed and fatigued lately. Don't feel like doing anything but sleeping and mooping around. The new job is going well and I like it, just so darn tired all the time and I think that's what's got me so down. I'm not good with all the holiday hoopla either and just want to crawl under a rock some days. I've also got a bad cold now and that has not helped. Sorry to be so down in the dumps, but I guess it comes with the territory. Kitty

"Mooping" sounds more fun than moping, at least! You'd probably prefer a kitty, but...
CHEER UP!
Just when you thought you'd seen all of my "dyed-poodle pic collection" last month, I surprise you with yet another. Where do they all come from??????????
