Acai Berry

Options

I have read and heard that Acai Berries are extremley good for cancer and prevention, is anyone taking the Acai Berry Vitamins, if so what brand and how many mg??  I was wondering if it still has the same effect as the natural berry, maybe if I got organic?

Thanks!

Well, to answer my own question :)  My friend is taking the vitamins and loves them! I am also purchasing the acai berry in sherbert ice cream cups from a Brazilian store.  I am told that this works however you need to take them continuously for the lifetime effect.  SO worth the try!  Look it up!

B -- I read up on the famous Acai berry a couple of years ago, and found that blueberries have a similar amount of anti-oxidants.  And blueberries are much cheaper.  I have a half cup of blueberries in my smoothie every morning.  Tastes great!

The over-promotion of the acai berry in North America has been a major boon to the farmers who harvest the berries in Brazil.  I'm more interested in the welfare of my North American blueberry farmers, actually. Smile

B123, I put acai juice in my kids' smoothies.  You're right, it does taste great.  I also put blueberries and strawberries, greek yogurt and a smidge of honey.  Yummy!

i did organic acai berries, frozen from Whole Foods brand Zambamazon before and after diagnosis, ($6-$8 for 4 pack smoothie)

then I found in a website by a survivor mathematician that Acai beries may not be so great when on chemo so I discontinued its use.

"Açaí berry-drug interactions, especially cytochrome P450 (CYP)-mediated interactions, may cause an enhancement or reduction in the efficacy of prescription drugs. Açaí berry products should not be consumed during chemotherapy."

I dont know if it applied to my regime of TCH but I didnt want to take my chances. I hope this helps

sorry for the delay, is a smoothie pack that has no sugar, and is mixed with guarana i believe, its on the frozen fruit section, its a little pricey http://www.sambazon.com/ but is not like other products where you get 5% of acai and some other ingredients mixed in

once im done with this ordeal, i'm definitely eating more this with lime juice to kill the raw livings
