Kiwi, I'm 9 weeks plus a couple days PFC.
-
ksmatthews: Awee thanks hun You look great as well xx
-

I am 3 mos out from Dose Dense AC-T-My hair is maybe 3/4 inch-I am a natural blonde and it started coming in white with color under. It is pretty thick all over. My eyelashes started coming in around 6 weeks after the last treatment as well. They are a little thicker than what I had to begin with. I am just hoping to keep them.
It is sooo nice having a little bed-head in the morning and I actually have a duck tail in the back!
-
beccasgm u look great!
-
@ksmatthews-so do you girl-good luck on your scan tomorrow. I have my first 3 month ONC follow-up since completing Chemo and am a little nervous as well.
-
Becca - looks great!!! I'm noticing the eyelashes grow pretty fast. And I've got that duck tail thing going on, too!
KS - I wear some breast cancer earrings often - I hope it minimizes the dumb questions! And good luck with your scan tomorrow.
-
Once they started, it seemed like they came in quick-I spent alot of time in the magnified mirror and was so excited to see the first nubs of eyelashes! I love your hair color-was it a temporary rinse?
-
you guys are doing great... goooo hair!!!ejays
-
MamaV-they will love the trip, don't forget about butterbeer and they also sell this pumpkin juice. I know it shounds nasty, but it's not really pumpkin, kinda an applecider with alot of cinammin-have fun and boy do I get the cold head thing. Love going topless and can a little longer than you up north, but I agree-how to men do it?
marthah-I used a Sally Henson product for dry brittle nails and that seemed to help. Your hair looks great and growing so fast.
ksmattheus-glad I made you smile and good luck with CT,make sure you let us know how it goes. As far as stupid people, remember you can cure cancer, but you can't cure stupid-F'em I say.
beccasgm-cool, we have about the same hair growth in the same time frame. When was your last chemo? Mine was Aug 8th.
-
Beccasgm - It's L'Oreal chestnut brown and it washes out in 28 shampoos. At least that's what the box says. Because my hair was coming in white, it seems to have taken the red rather than the brown. It's definitely a younger look and a little fun.
-
Looking good ladies! Keep the pictures coming to encourage us all!
-
LuvRving-I love the color-you look great!
Before I was diagnosed, I had let my hair grow a bit and it was shoulder length. When I found I was to have chemo I decided to have a little fun.
My husband used to be a stylist so he cut it short, we first dyed it red and then black right before it fell out. I had never dyed my hair before so it was fun seeing the different colors. I wound up getting a reddish-brown wig (see avatar) that I have gotten more compliments on than I ever did my real hair. People are really surprised that it is a wig!

-
survivor11-my last chemo was the 4th of August! Woot!
I am getting ready to see my ONC for the first three month follow-up and am a little nervous.
I would love to see pics of your growth.
-
Hey ladies, thanks for all of your encouraging words about my hair growth. YaYa, you'll get there gf...be patient.
Just want to let you know that the fatigue from my rads is catching up to me, so won't be posting much the next few days...will try to read and stay caught up, but too pooped to post!

-
What are the rules for coloring?
I am 7 1/2 weeks PFC. "Hair" is mostly thin grey stubble on the top, but longer on the sides.
-
Dragonfly, where do I get one of those little clippers?
denise
-
Dr office just called and scan was "all clear"!!!
-
Beccasgm, dunno what you plan in the long run, but from your photos, you are very striking with short hair! And the wig is truly great!
As to the wig looking "better" than our regular hair, a smart gal who went through treatment right after me told me wig hair is shinier, more like it is when we are younger. She, too got tons of "you look great" with the wig.
-
@KSmatthews-Yay! Good for you!
-
@LtotheK-Thank you for the kind words-I might have to grow my hair to the wig style and play around with color again.
I liked the black alot but also the red. Oh to have enough hair to even worry about it yet...a girl can dream!
-
becca you look great. wish my husband was a hiardresser! your so lucky your hair is nice and straight i am like little orpahn annie lol
-
beccasgm, you are gorgeous and very beautiful. I really like your natural pre-pre-chemo style and colour. I may use you as a model for a style for myself. Your hubby is an excellent cutter.
ks, yay for your scan results!! -
KS - YIPPEEE!
-
KS- WOOOOOHOOOOO Great news, so happy for you
-
KS - I'm doing the happy dance for you!!!
Martha - hope you can get some rest. I will be starting rads on 11/30. I have my planning session this Thursday. Should really make me energetic right around Christmas...lol.
Beccasgm - good luck with your follow-up. Sending positive thoughts for an "all clear" visit.
-
Becca hair looks fab
KS fab news I go tomorrow for my check up
-
survivor11, tomorrow I am starting another med for the sweating. I hope it helps as the problem is getting ridiculous; hardly any flashing but heaps of sweating.
Re the extensions, the type I am getting will be two wefts/bands that wrap around the back of the head, secured by little plastic cylinders to my own hair. I need to have at least 2 inches of length, probably ideally more, for the stylist to work with in attaching the wefts. There is then a small toupé piece to cover the short hair on the crown. Cost is $530 for the wefts, about $200 for the toupé and $130 every 6 - 8 weeks for maintenance/repositioning of the wefts as the hair grows.
There may be other extensions that are cheaper, but not for hair as short as mine. Also, this system does not damage the hair. -
KS -- congrats!!!
Michelle -- get your Xmas shopping done now, gf.
Better yet, do it on the 'net and have everything delivered to the giftees! I'm pretty sure it's nap time somewhere...
-
I am 29 weeks pfc today. Yesterday I was massaging my head and afterwards I noticed that one hair had fallen out! I measured the length and it was 1 5/8 inches :-( .
I am happy to have hair but need more. I have enough to go topless but only do so when I know that I won't see anyone I know as only my sister knows about my hair loss. -
Martha - I discovered shopping online through Amazon years ago on a very snowy Sunday in December when no one was going anywhere. I did 90% of my shopping that day and had it all shipped to my daughter's house in MA. Now we are in the same area so I'll have things sent here. My DH can wrap if I'm not up to it. I LOVE Amazon!!! Luckily I am not working, my DH works from home and I don't have to do anything unless I feel up to it. That drive is going to be the real killer, though. My family will all help as best they can including picking up some of the driving.
Someone asked about rules for hair color...not sure there are any hard and fast rules. I opted for temporary hair color because my hair is growing fast and I wasn't sure how the color would take. I didn't want to pick a permanent color and then just hate it.
