Nipple Leakage

Hi!  I wasn't sure where to post this, but I hope lots of people see it.  I had DCIS last year and consider myself very lucky.  So many of our cancer sisters have it so much worse.  Last week I woke in the morning and there was a wet spot on the area of my nipple on the boob I'd had cancer on.  I thought maybe one my cats had slobbered on me during the night so I wasn't worried.  But I woke up today and the same thing and this time I know it was coming from my nipple.  Has anyone else had this?  I am worried the cancer is back.  I'm calling my doctor right now but would love to hear from anyone else who might have had this problem.  Thanks.

It's good that you're calling the doctor.  I had occasional leakage for years before my cancer was discovered and I'm sure it was related.  My doctor brushed it off since my mammograms were clear, though.  Bad decision.

Edited to add:  Did you have a lumpectomy or radiation?  Perhaps it's damage to the breast tissue that's causing the leakage?

    Good luck to you!

Hi!  I am leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow and when I called the doctor, they were nice enough to squeeze me in today - the doctor suggested it might be a bit of sweat since I sleep on my stomach - uh, right...  But he sent me for an ultrasound and the radiologist said that after the lumpectomy a seroma formed and it's about an inch and a half long and there is fluid in my milk ducts and she thinks it might be from the seroma and everything looked great and not to worry and I'm having my normal mammo and ultrasound in March so I'm going to hang loose.  I had radiation done and I think it's all related.  Lots of the trauma to the boob ! ! ! !
