I agree with Sharon, 3 months sounds a little long.  I started rads (still doing them) 7 weeks after surgery.  PS said to wait a full 6 weeks, so if your mom had recon, she would have to wait at least 6 weeks or the rads could pose a problem to the recon.  So I think 2 months would be good, but I would try to do that and not wait 3.

Very happy for you and your good news!

    Oi Bruno!

Tudo bem? I am Norteamericana but have done research in Brazil for many years. I am also a stage III BC survivor. I have had to deal with the Brazilian health care system many times and just like medicos here, there are good and bad. You just have to keep fighting...I hope very much you will keep searching online for answers. Check the primary literature through the medical journals, keep up to date, and always be there to hold a mão da sua mãe. I am 1 1/2 years after the end of double mastectomy, chemo then rads and continuing on Arimidex. I am back to work full time, but it's difficult sometimes, and I am often exhausted still. But I am slowly getting more energy, even though I still have neuropathy and pain. It is a long road. Eu acho que você é um filho maravilhoso e cuidar da mãe, mas não ignore seus próprios estudos. Perdoe meu português ruim! And always remember --- this is my inspiration: "sao as aguas de marco fechando o verao é a promessa de vida no teu coracao."

    Abraços!

I hope this works.  Share this girls, we got to push for this kinds of aproaches, so that big pharma companies don't have the monopoly they have over our lives.
