So, I have been told an daily anti anxiety med like Zoloft or Lexapro will help keep things "stable" through this whole process, and with a 16 month old, the more stable and happy I can be the better.  Is anyone on anything to help and if so what and how do you like it?

I have been taking Lexapro since May. I find it eliminates at least 80% of dark mood feelings. (I also see a therapist). I have had no side effects from the medication.

I am not on Tamoxifen but have read that you have to be careful if taking it and an antidepressant as some antidepressants can reduce the efficacy of tamoxifen.

I suggest let your onc know if you plan to start taking an antidepressant. I hope you find one that's suitable.

I have been taking 5 mg of Lexapro, it has helped me tremendously. I didn't start taking it untial about a year after treatment when I hit the "wall."  Definitely talk to you oncologist & find one that works for you. NJ

Lexapro and Effexor didn't work for me.  The only thing that has ever worked is Zoloft.

I am on Arimidex right now but will be switching back to Tamoxifen in January.  My oncologist told me last week that new studies have come out and he is not so concerned about me being on Zoloft and Tamoxifen at the same time like he was last year.

I should add that everyone is different.  What works for some may not work for others so you should try and see what works for a couple of months and if no change, talk to your doctor about increasing the dosage or switching to something else.  JMHO

what works for one person may not work for another,it's trial and error, really. that being said after 7 yrs of taking them all, the only one that has helped me is wellbutrin XL, i am on the generic now. as others have said talk to your MO to make sure whatever you take doesn't interfere with your medications.
