Hi,

I recently completed a roundtrip journey to New Zealand (12.5hours flying each way!)  I decided to be proactive and saw a LE specialist and got a compression sleeve and gauntlet to wear.

My question is, what is the best way to wash the sleeve and gauntlet?  Hand wash in Woolite and hang to dry?

Any advice is appreciated...

    Hi, lbarb,

Hope the trip was a great, refreshing get-away!Cool

NEVER woolite. Some garment makers say to use your regular laundry detergent, others go for Dreft or Ivory Snow. No bleach, no fabric softener. Use a gentle cycle and warm or cold water. I hang mine to dry but some women put them in the dryer on low heat -- doesn't take long to dry them that way.

Of course in a pinch (or a hotel room) you can handwash them, but for me it doesn't always get the grub off of them. If you handwash, roll them gently in a towel to remove excess water and hang to dry, but don't wring or twist them.

    Hope that helps!

I wash mine in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent and hang it up to air dry.

    Binney4-I'm just curious-why never Woolite??

Thanks Binney and YramAL.  My garments are Juzo, if that makes any difference...Interesting abut the Woolite, that would have been my first choice.  --LB

Woolite is actually a harsh detergent. In fact, fiber workers (think hand-spinners and weavers) NEVER use Woolite because it's hard on fibers, makes things stiffer, more brittle. Some of the LE garment makers actually do specify not to use Woolite because it's what many people think of first. Odd, isn't it?

    Nothing about LE is predictable....Undecided!

    Be well,
    Binney
