MiSheberach
This thread is for women who would like others to include them in the traditional Jewish prayer for healing, the MiSheberach. Anyone is free to list their name and/or Hebrew name in posts below.
May G-d who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah, bring blessing and healing to ______________. May the Holy One mercifully restore her to health and vigor, granting her physical and spiritual well-being, together with all others who are ill. And let us say Amen.

Leah bat Sarah
On my moshav we have a list for Tehillim (Psalms). We say the complete Book of Psalms for all those on the list so I will add these names.
Leah
-
Caryn (exbrnxgrl)- Leeba Shana bat Raizel
Please add my name. Thanks! -
Caryn - You're on. I had your name from elsewhere but I wanted to make sure you were okay with it going on another thread. I hope things have started to get better for you.
-
Rachel - I'm a year out from diagnosis. I had my stage 2 reconstruction 2 weeks ago and should now officially be done with treatment. Since the MiSheberach includes prayers for spiritual well-being, I'd love to be included. I'm still working on that aspect!
Chava Sara bat Miriam.
Thanks!
-
Thanks for taking this up, Rachel! As they say in my son's school, you are a mitzvah girl!
Leah, thanks for including the names on the list, too. Somehow I feel the prayers mean more coming from Israel. I miss Israel right now.
We left in Dec. 1999 and it still feels like yesterday. -
Thank you for doing this.
-
Found your thread, thank you!

goldie123 - Amen to that!

I'm hoping to go to shul this Saturday to recite the Hagomel prayer so I'll take this Misheberach list with me. I was hesitant about reciting hagomel just yet, as I have yet to go through chemo. That to me will hopefully mark my safe passage, but my Rabbi said I should do it for having gone through surgery and come out okay. I can do it again once chemo is done.
Thanksgiving is not a Jewish holiday per se, but I do wish everyone a peaceful holiday.
-
Just bumping this in case anyone new comes along and wants to add their name. I took the list this morning when I went to celebrate my 30th Bat Mitzvah anniversary - so long ago!

rachelvk, Please add my name to your list Rose-ruth bat Avraham.

Done. I'm sorry you have to join the list. We were diagnosed about a week apart it seems. There is another thread called Jewish Warrior Sisters that you're welcome to check out.

Can we remove names? I really don't feel mine needs to be here anymore... but I would like to add a friend of mine, Sima bat Channah. Thank you.

Sure. That's a good point. But all of you guys are always in my thoughts for good health.
