Starting to freak. Have  not had a lot of chance to freak about BC often because a tree came through our house on saturday night so we are homeless.  Going to recover in a hotel room.  I'm so afraid of the wire the most of alll.

    So sorry to hear about the tree through the house!  But I will try to reassure you:  I had the wire guided biopsy, and although it may be a little weird and uncomfortable, it really didn't hurt at all.  In the scheme of things, it was not a big deal (for me.)  If you are totally freaking out , ask them for something to help you calm down.  It can make a difference and there is no shame in it.

    I had a wire placed also - wasn't bad at all. Sometimes I think we worry because we dont know what to expect. Yes take a Xanax or something before and you could ask for a sleeping pill the night before, helps to get a good nights rest. Let us know your results.

    It will certainly help to take a Xanax before.  For me having the wires placed (I had 2) was very uncomfortable and it would have helped if I had taken a Xanax before.

    Hi all -T he wire placement did hurt a little - much more so than the needle biopy but I am post surgery with a very small bandage.  I can take the bandage off tomorrow. no pain so far and no problems.  Feel great actually.  Should know path on Monday.  Thanks for the well wishes.

    Glad to hear it!  Hope recovery in a hotel room feels like a mini vacation instead of a hassle...
