    I can't find the triple positive forum, not surprising seeing as how I thought I was likely triple negative for the last six weeks, added to which life has turned into one long, increasinging unmanagable panic attack and arguably I should not be allowed to dress myself.  

    Is the +++ a separate forum or a thread in a forum?

    Am I losing my mind or have I already lost it?

    I am SO unhappy.  I tell EVERYONE.  Anyone who asks me how I am, I give them the same answer .

    Graylady, Sorry about your dx. I'm glad at least you got it out.

    I'm in the same boat as you. My biopsy, 2 C, showed idc, her2+++ and highgrade dcis, como-neucrosis solid type. The final pathology report is yet to come...don't think it could get worse. My head is swimming with so much information. BCO is a great place for support, and there are good threads that are helping me right now such as the her2 positive threads, reconstruction and a few others. BUT...check out eveything for yourself. You are your best advocate. Whatever you choose make sure it's something that works for you.

    I'm looking at a place called Camelot in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It treats not only your cancer but the whole person. It's premise is not to harm the body. They do offer low doses of chemo where you don't lose your hair. The philosphy there is to build your immune system, which is something I need to do. I'm sure there are other places like Camelot like the Cancer Center of America that also includes alternative medicine...that is if you are interested in alternative as well.

    You are a smart woman, and I am confident that you will scour over all the information that comes your way. I am interested in your bc journey, especially since I'm on the same journey.

    Ladygrey, sorry you got the DX you weren't expecting. Although you struggled alot on what to do, you did make the right decision, thankgoodness! Panic with a new DX is understandable but you will get past that too as you get a grip on whats next. Keep asking lots of questions, there is always someone to help you through.

    TheLadyGrey...I am sorry you got the difficult pathology report and dx.  I wish you all of the luck in the world navigating the chemo decisions.  I totally get the world of declining medical advice...have probably done it more than accepting it in my lifetime (with medical issues unrelated to breast cancer, too).  Never easy to do.  But, so essential to make decisions you are comfortable with.  I wish you the best of luck with this one.

    Lady Grey, as belleeast said, the triple positive is the her2/neu positive area. That's because so many women are ER/PR positive that those other positives aren't terribly remarkable. http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/80

    I have nothing more to add to what the others have said, but please do "hang in there." Although there's no turning back the clock to a time when you didn't have BC, I think things will get better for you.

    LadyGrey-Welcome to my world! I started out with LCIS and it took two months and two surgical biopsies to final find the IDC, which was also HER2+. I would have to go back and read a bunch, but I think you had a bmx. If so, and margins were clean, take your week to get your thoughts together. I am going to pm you my list of questions for the oncologists I met with. Might save you some time.

    With a small tumor, they would probably tell you that you don't need the chemo if you did a bmx, or radiation, unless it was in your lymph nodes. HOWEVER....because you are her2+, they feel it works best when combined with chemo. Really sucks. However, again, it was so much less bad than I had convinced myself it would be. My chemo was 12 weeks of Taxol, once a week, and I didn't have many side effects. Even kept a good part of my hair until one month after chemo. Most side effects were minor. But everyone is different.

    LadyGrey - sorry to hear about the bad news. I guess the "silver lining" is that though you have an aggressive cancer, it was caught "early", and your prognosis is I am sure very good. Doesn't feel fortunate, though, I suppose. Sorry you aren't done figuring this thing out, and good luck to you pushing through this.
