Symptoms??
HI ladies
I am new to this board and Im searching for a few answers. I am 24 years old and have had problems with my rights breast for a few months but lately it has got worse.I am having a breast MRI on tuesday but Im looking for what some of your ladies symptoms of ILC were. My right breast is swollen, there is what feels like a chain of knots going horizontally, there is a swollen knot/lymph node under my armpit that is tender, a vein that has came out of no where, as well as a small area of patchiness (size of a pea) that is red (scaly). It just feels and looks differently than my left. I had about 3-4 days of pain that has subsided. I have some numbness in the middle right side of my back. Underneath my armpit is also swollen. Lots of things going on I know.I have this deep feeling that its cancer. So much that I have come to terms with being ok with that, now I just want to know what to expect (treatment, survival rates, has it spread, etc.). SOrry If I have rambled lol, I just need to find some answers. I know that its rare for a 24 year old woman to have BC but I know it does happen. When you have a feeling that you know thats what it is, you just know.
Thanks
Kat

bump for more info for you. How did the MRI go?

PAmom - I am so sorry you are going through this & I hope that the MRI comes back clear for you. My ILC did not present the way you describe. Very slow growing. Dense breast tissue making its growth - undetectable by mammogram & ultrasound until it was so large my nipple started to invert. The red scaly area you describe does concern me as that may be indicative IBC, but you are doing the right thing and trusting your gut & getting it checked out. I will keep you in my prayers & please know that they are a lot of great women here for you! You are not alone! Cyber hugs, Joyce

Hi Ladies,
I had my breast MRI today (man was that fun
). THe "mass" in my right breast has almost doubled in size in the past 3 weeks. FOr the past 2 days I have been in excrutiating pain on my right side. There is swelling and it almost feels like something is "stuck" in between 2 "love handles" lol. Its hard for me to even hold my 6 month old daughter. I get out of breath just carrying her upstairs and she is only 15lbs. I just feel with every fiber of my being that its breast cancer. Almost to the point that Im ok if thats what it is, I just want it fixed. Due to the pain Im having in my side and part of my back, Im worried that if it is cancer, it has spread. Also, the lower part of my right breast is becoming more "hollow" inside if that makes since and it seems like all of the breast tissue is surrounding my chest wall. I can live with it being cancer, but my concern is how will I survive? My partner (we are a lesbian couple) is a social worker and makes decent money and I work as a community supports associate for a group home but my worry is how can we live on one income? Will I still be able to work while getting treatment? What about our daughter, I can't just throw all of the parenting on my partner, even though she would say Im crazy for thinking that way,..it is a worry. You ladies, even as strangers, give me comfort. I should have posted that my mothers sister passed from breast cancer at 23...I am 24. So now I wait for the results.... -
I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I'm 71 and my kids are grown, but I can only imagine how I would have felt in your shoes, trying to carry on a career, being a mother, and so on, while dealing with this challenge.
Try not to project ahead, although I know that's hard not to do when you are worried. It could be just a bad infection. Most of these things turn out to be something other than bc.
Sending prayers and positive energy your way and hoping for the best possible outcome for you!
