Eye twitch during Herceptin?
Have any of you experienced eye twitching after a herceptin treatment? I`m on my third round of herceptin and my one eye twitches all the time. Not sure if this is the herceptin or just a coincidence.

Hmm, I have not and I just finished my 4th. Eye twitching is sometimes caused by stress...and our stress at this point is off the charts...
-
Ohhh - I never thought about the stress factor! The other thing I was thinking is maybe it's because I'm always getting things in my eyes now (with less eyebrows and eyelashes to stop it). Who would have thought they were for anything other than making us look pretty
Letlet - how's your hair coming back in during herceptin? I take it you're done chemo now?
-
I got this from taxotere. Are you sure this isn't from chemo? sometimes it takes a while for SE to appear and disappear. I finished chemo 3.5 weeks ago but still doing herceptin every 3 weeks. The twitching just started to get a little better.

My eyes twitched throughout chemo and also with just herceptin. I am now a month past my final herceptin and my eyes have not twitched in a couple of weeks.

sheuber...just a week out from chemo...no hair yet
Some armpit hair grew on Taxol though...
-
Largo - you're right... it could totally be from the taxotere. It's just a bit strange it didn't start until almost 2 months after my last chemo treatment. It's not a terrble side effect, just more bothersome.
vmarie - congratulations on being done your last herceptin treatment!
Letlet - of course the hair that starts growing back first is in a place where we don't want it! I've got lots of peach fuzz on my head but it's very sparse on the top (kind of like a balding man). It really started filling in more this past week though. Still, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon without a hat

I had eye twitches from Taxotere.

I also had an eye twitch. It lasted weeks. Yes, I looked up eye mets but could find nothing and then realized it was really and probably just from stress as I have had them before. It has been gone for weeks now. I hope yours goes away soon as well!
-
Yes I definitly had it from herceptin.I even had the twitch months after. It wouldn't be constant though. Finally went away.I finished herceptin last Aug.
-
I had eye twitching. Also, eye watering and nose dripping.
-
I have eye twitching on Herceptin. I also heard once that it because you are low on potassium.
-
Mine twitches since my 5th Herceptin! It's really annoying! But it's my only side effect so far.
-
I had mine while on herceptin and chemo...taxol...don't have it now that it is just herceptin

Thanks for all the feedback - as always the ladies on here are so informative! The twitching during the herceptin has stopped completly. I have 3 herceptin treatments left and for some reason, the longer they go on the harder they get I'm so foggy for a couple of days after (and have to come home straight to bed after each one). Was totally not the case when I started. Anyone else experience this?

My eyes twitched a lot while I was on chemo. However, the twitching started 4 days before I began. My eye dr. said it was stress. It seemed to subside after chemo. I don't think we often really realize how stressful this whole breast cancer experience is.

It seemed to subside after chemo, though I continued taking Herceptin for 8 more months. I don't think we often really realize how stressful this whole breast cancer experience is.

how can I get it to stop? Thanks

This is my first post, my wife is in the early stages of Diagnosis (1cm, IDC, +++, No nodes) but I might be able to help with the eye twitch.
It will sounds weird, and you may want to check with your Onco but I have personal experience with this and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence on the internet: Quinine - The malaria medication. You can get it in small doses from Tonic Water and from "Hyland's Leg Cramp" Tablets - Available on Amazon under 10 bucks.
I had a persistent eye twitch for 2 months - No relief. I tried Tonic Water and couldn't drink enough of it, so I gave the Quinine Pills a chance - The eye twitch stopped in 24 hours and never came back. Hope this helps!
