I am new to the LE forum so here goes my question - How do I find a fitter?  Would it be my CLT?

At this time, it looks like LE is only in my hand and possibly my wrist (non-dominant side).

Thanks!

Trish

is CLT Certified Lymphedema Therapist? if so, I would think that they could fit you. If you are going through an insurance company you will probably need an RX from your primary care or ONC for them to pay for it.  I went to a physical therapist who was certified in lympedema treatment.  It could be that if your swelling is mild, it can be controlled with regular MLD massage.

    Leap,

yes it is.  I've only been to him 3 times (1st was an eval and some MLD with kineso taping, second was some MLD and send home with an evening garment to try and third was some MLD with more kineso taping).  I will see him again on Friday - will know then if insurance will be covering some of the cost of the glove.  Even though I was taped on Monday, it feels like it's trying to swell up again, but that's for another thread topic!

If he cannot fit me, who would I go to?  I'm sure he would be able to tell me but I want to do research before I see him, just in case.

    Thanks,

    Trish

Not all therapists will fit garments, but they should know of good fitters in your area, and be able to make a referral.

Trish, my swelling is mostly in my hand, and I have a custom glove where that extends up to part of the forearm. I do have sleeves, but almost never wear them. Gloves are tricky, so you want a good fitter, and sometimes trial and error is part of the process until you figure out what's right for you.
