OVER 70 TREATMENT CHOICES POST-OP?????

Options

Contemplating treatment options.  I understand 67% of CA diagnosis statistical data is for women over 70; however, just 35% of women over 70 have participated in clinical trials.  What I've gleaned from web sites is we gals over 70 are increasing in number; ya-but! we are doing so with a dearth of study information for our age demographic.  What I've discovered is 1) less is known about our over-70 response standard treatment choices yet; and 2) standard treatment choices based on younger women continue to be the "soup du jour" for the over-70-set. I am interested in your comments, based on your personal experience and/or historical references.

You don't seem to be getting answers here, so you might try going to the "support and community connections" area and asking again in the older women forum.

I very much agree with you, though, that there tends to be a "one size fits all" approach to medicine (not just BC). Except for antibiotics, one's weight is rarely considered when medication is given; and once you're over 12, there seems to be little thought given to age.
